Are bracelet stacks just a trend?

Do you think bracelet stacks are just a trend? I love the look of a bracelet stack but wondering if it’s a trend that won’t last long. I feel like I haven’t seen stacks until the last few years but I could be wrongZ I want to buy classic forever pieces but I would venture out from bracelets if stacks aren’t a staple.

The luxury bracelet stack is certainly new. I've only seen it on TPF, and not on the daily in Asia-Pacific. Maybe it's the crowd I move in. It only works if you don't mingle on the daily with the $2-a-day class. Out of safety and also consideration.
An armful of bracelets has been around forever, though.

It’s been around for quite some time but it blew up more on social media during the pandemic. But if you look on any of the Cartier in Action or VCA in Action threads, you’ll see it going back more than ten years. And even though it seems ubiquitous on IG, in real life I rarely see jewelry stacks unless they are no name brands. Culturally gold bangles are also popular in some countries.

Arms of jangling bangles have been worn in some cultures since metalsmithing began. But I think this latest trend started over a decade ago with “arm parties” - layers of all kinds of bracelets, often lots of costume pieces like colorful beads and Hermes leather bracelets. Then I think this has morphed into something more subdued and luxurious lately.

Calling it a trend implies it will be over at some point. But given the cost of these pieces, I can’t imagine devotees taking their stacks off anytime soon.

Imho, a nice set of 2-4 complementing pieces that can be worn comfortably with anything and everything is timeless.

I love the look of mixing obvious luxury items with more obscure brands or no brand items. I’m not really drawn to just all brand names on the wrist.

I remember being very young and really wanting gold semainier bracelets… I still want gold semainier bracelets and I’m in my forties!
I think bracelet stacks have been around forever and will continue to be around. I come from a country that isn’t really into branded jewelry, we have a tradition of jewelers but not branded.

I don’t think wearing multiple bracelets/bangles is a trend. The whole Cartier love, JUC, and VCA combo stack is kind of a uniform honestly (and why not, it looks good and not everything has to be unique or unbranded), but I don’t think it’s a short lived trend that will become passé in a couple of years.
