i have seen multiple styles of different mini backpacks. i have to say it is probably the easiest to carry with a child. i do consider myself a crossbody girl though. so are mini backpacks in? thoughts on how you feel about using a mini backpack as your every day or regular purse?

I'd say they've been lately. I personally like the style of them because they're so casual but cute at the same time. I've been looking at MCM's and also LV. A few other brands that have some are Marc Jacobs, Michael kors, Rebecca minkoff

Backpacks have been losing their thunder lately. There's only so long a fashion trend can go before it's replaced by another.
This doesn't change my love for backpacks. I carry one every day for work, plus I have dedicated backpacks for travel, and a leather one to carry instead of a handbag.

My latest treasure is a Ju-Ju Be Be Right Backpack which is originally a mommy bag but I use it for travel; it's hands down THE smartest backpack I ever owned! Perfect for day trips, hand luggage, weekend getaways and just about everything else you can think of. If you want a fun pattern, Ju-Ju Be has a huge variety and also a smaller Mini Me backpack if you want something to use instead of a handbag as well. It's a mini size but fits a ton, plus it's practically indestructible.

I like them. I have three backpacks. The julian backpack in grey by Rebecca Minkoff. The small Henry Bendel in black and a small one from a California company called Libaire. They are all very pretty and yet very practical. Lv just made some very cute ones too.

The minis have been fashionable, I see more full size now (worn 'fashionably' on commuters/shoppers not back-packer style on travellers).

Most brands now have a small or medium backpack available and they are useful, choose one that looks like a 'normal' bag that happens to be a back pack. Don't get anything that screams cute/ looks like a chid's/has busy print and you can carry on wearing it long after the fashion is passed.

I have a vintage Burberry back pack, it's very useful for the gym, I also have a 'large' Chanel (it's actually not that large, just larger than the small). My Prada I gave away. I think everyone should have a back pack for those days you need/want 2 hands free.

I absolutely agree with you. I got rid of my large backpacks and kept only the ones that are more handbag sizes and still chic.

LV came out with the Palm Springs backpack in three sizes about two months ago I believe. I purchased the medium size (PM) and think it's darling. The mini size has been quite popular but to me it's not big enough to be practical. I like the PM cause it's a great size as a purse and fits all the necessities. I see backpacks all over right now so I'd definitely say they're in.

Out shopping with her.

I tried the smallish leather backpack trend and I feel that they just look strange on me. I don't know if it's because I'm top heavy to begin with and it just doesn't make for a good balance. I definitely prefer my handbags down by the hip. I'll stick to my Jansport and High Sierra when I need to do some utilitarian lugging.

I have a two year old and had a LV Bosphore Backpack. For me, the drawstring top was not easy to get into. I also felt that it was a "black hole" and everything I needed was always in the bottom!! I ended up selling it and getting the Chanel Banane Waist Bag. If you do get a backpack, IMO, I would stay away from anything with a drawstring. [emoji4]
