Are 2.55 and classic flap the same thing?

I am very confused. I know that 2.55 has five sizes:
224
225
226
227
228

But what about medium classic flap? jumbo? I saw a medium classic with double flaps and one jumbo bag with single flap in Chanel today. The SA was super busy and I was in a hurry to leave so I didn't get a chance to ask.:shame:

I also saw blue, violet and cream east west bags. The SA called them "pochette".:love:

It's very confusing! Don't worry - it took me awhile to figure it out. So the numbers you have listed are for the new "reissue" bags, which are typically called the 2.55 by SA's. They have the aged leather and the mademoiselle clasp with the metal chain. These were released in 2005 initially to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the classic flap, but are still being made. The 5 numbers you listed there correspond to the last 3 digits of the style number in the Chanel catalogue.

The words "medium" and "jumbo" flap typically are used to describe the sizes of the "classic flap" bags originally from 1955. These are sometimes called 2.55, but generally SAs will use the term "classic flap" for these. These either come in lambskin or caviar, and they have the traditional CC closure and the leather woven into the chain link. Yes, it is the medium with the double flap and the east/west and jumbo is a single flap.

The Classic Flap Bag comes in three sizes:
Small - 9" x 5.5" x 2"
Medium - 10" x 6" x 2.5"
Jumbo - 12" x 8" x 3"

There are four sizes in the Reissue 2.55:
A302224 - The Baby ?
A302225 - The Medium 9.75" x 7.06" x 2.16"
A302226 - The Large 11" x 8" x 2.5"
A302227 - The X-Large, Jumbo aka A-4 size 12.25" x 9.18" x 2.5"

You can see examples of the Classic Flap vs. the Reissue in the Chanel reference library.

Yes - see my post #5. Since the reissue has come out, the terminology used has shifted, where 2.55 refers to the new reissue generally, and classic flap refers to the original flap with the CC closure.

As cosmo said, there are lots of pics in the ref thread so you can see the diffs.

Can a bag be both? Because I only thought the original reissue has the new closure, and the ones this year for instance had the CC once again.

I would have said that the
225: small
226: medium
227: large
228: Jumbo
