Anyone know what this white stuff on my bag is?

Hi, I recently received a bag and it has this white stuff on both sides in the same spot. I’ve tried wiping it but it just comes back. Any ideas as to what this is?

I'm not sure, but could it be that the leather has dried out in that area? You could try carefully dabbing some leather conditioner on with a q-tip, being careful not to coat the thread.

This has been addressed on other threads, I just can't remember which threads they are, so sorry. I think they advised it has something to do with the dying/tanning process of the leather.
