So i've been dabbling with eyeliners lately.. being useing MAC fluidline in blacktrack religiously and recently found revlons colorstay eyeliner in black.. but I always wondering if it was possible to use eyeshadow (preferably Urban Decary - Perversion shadow) as eyeliner? Wondering if it has good or even better staying power than the other eyeliners? Eyeshadow just has a easier application process (for me) and it would save me a lot of time when putting on my makeup. I also use UDPP under all my eye makeup as well. :)

Thank you~

I often use MAC's Smut eyeshadow as an eyeliner when I want a softer look. It holds up just as well as the rest of my eyeshadow, so long as I use a base under it. I guess I'd say staying power is the same but it definitely won't have that same slick look as Fluidline. Unless you wet/foil it :)

I definitely don't want a solid eyeliner look on my eyes.. just a soft "outline" I guess of my eyes just to define them a little.. but nothing dramatic that makes my eyes scream "I'M WEARING EYELINER!" haha.. KWIM? ^^

Hahaha.. then yeah, definitely try eyeshadow as a liner :D I know a lot of girls like to use Carbon or Black Tied. An angled eyeliner brush is probably best for lining with shadow :)

I bought Bobbi Brown eyeshadow recently and the girl at the counter spritzed the brush with water and used the eyeshadow as eyeliner. It seems to be a bit more forgiving, as you can smudge the colour up and into your eyeshadow as well.

I've only recently heard of doing that i_wona, I had never considered 'wetting' the eye shadow ever.. just consider me locked in my little box... but I'm learning to think outside of it :)

This is how I do my eyeliner. I wet a 22 Mac brush and run it through the shadow and apply as liner. Very easy to do and it is softer and more forgiving if you make a mistake as the others have stated. Try it out. The trick is having the right brush, the mac is thin and angled and great for this.

I LOVE Black Tied as a liner. It is gorgeous and yes it stays on as long as my eyeshadow as long as I use a primer or some type of base. It's much easier to apply and gives you a much softer look.

Yeah I've used black tied as a liner for years it looks really nice for like a night look and with brights. Woodwinked and this Olive color forgot the name with neutrals like shroom and naked lunch look good too. I'm weird I have this thin lip brush I use just for that and I wet it first.

I use a variety of eyeshadows as eyeliner - my trick is to squirt some contact solution on my hand, dip my slanted eyeliner brush (I use MAC's 266) into the eyeshadow, and then dip into the solution before applying. The contact solution helps the eyeshadow liner stay on throughout the day.

I went through a period last fall when I would only use Lancome's Lezard as a liner. It was good "teacher eyeliner" because it was dark enough to make a difference in my eye makeup, but soft enough that it didn't seem to overdone. It also was super quick and nearly mistake-proof. I just used an angled liner brush and pressed a little harder into the shadow.
