I never thought I'd be looking for clear, but here I am! lol
I tried on a pair while dress shopping, the SA put in dressing room to use for trying on dresses and I actually really liked them!
I bought them in my size but NIB they were a little small, but the clear straps are a little loose just half a size up :(
I love how elongating they are on my leg and how they truly disappear.
Does anyone wear them and love theirs they can recommend?

The ones I've been trying at Gianvitto Rossi Metropolis.

I know they're very 'in', I would go for the Gianvito Rossi Elles. I know they're mules but there is more to the front upper, I also think they are more classic.

I used to have a pair with 'glass' heels from Giuseppe Zanotti and another I still have (more robust) pair from Sonia Rykiel also with lucite heels. I wore a pair for a show last year but I can't remember what the brand was (they were too big anyway) I don't think they were GR. None were/are comfortable.

They must fit perfectly because they 'kill' and look awful when the flesh is squashed and useless too big. Feet also get quite sweaty pretty quickly.

Thanks!
Maybe I'll try the Elle. I guess my instep (?) must be low because the straps on the pair that fit me best are too loose. It's for the Derby so I need a lower heel/70-80ish, wedges or an elegant block heel.
I really loved how the Metropolis literally disappeared in my pics trying on dresses. They definitely need to fit exactly right! I don't care if they're "in" or not tbh, this pair was just so easy to blend into nearly any dress look!

Manolo makes a clear and nude, open toe, strap sandal heel. A friend of mine has it and says it’s comfortable; true to size; and durable. I would first try brands whose last generally fits your foot. ETA : I have not tried them on bc I was concerned the straps would be uncomfortable, but I have finicky feet.

ETA: since the upper is not leather on any of these, I would check if a comfortable, non premier brand, like stuart Weitzman (or a more mainstream, contemporary brand, like Sam Edelman, makes a version. These brands tend to be a bit more padded in the sole, and I am not confident that the upper will remain clear (the plastic or PVC could cloud up or scratch). Even if you prefer premier brands, the others may make for interesting comparison.

My friend is a half size larger than me, so I believe she is Manolo 37.5, Prada 37, louboutin 38, if this helps.

I've always assumed they were terrible
I'll have look, thank you!

So I had a pair of clear strap open toed mules years ago.

They were not CL but looked exactly like them (minus the red bottoms of course)
I recall this design easy to wear and comfortable but I can’t say for the CL since I don’t have them.

Definitely agree that clear straps elongate the leg and it’s why I had mine. They were from Macy’s or something so when they got too dirty I just threw them away. But I did enjoy them while I had them.

Maybe you could try on the CL to see if you like them?

These would be so much more comfortable and breathable!

I have nothing to add substantively other than to say that I quite literally and audibly gasped when I saw the title of this thread and the OP. My brain nearly fried trying to comprehend what I was seeing.

Of course, I opened the thread to find you had discovered a beautiful and classic pair that I’m certain will look, well, swanky on you.

But seriously. Be still my poor little heart.

LOL!! 🤣I know... so odd right!? They're purty little things though, the way they just disappear! DH is pretty picky/judgy and insisted I keep them, he loves them, I tested them on Easter and happily wore them ALL DAY!!
