Anyone have both Silver Farandole 120 and 160?

Hi all, asking our lovely TPF’ers this question please.

I looked at a Farandole around 10 years ago in boutique but cannot remember which length it was.
At the time I passed as I thought it looked too chunky on me and wanted to compare with the “other’ length to be sure of my choice.
I chose the Confetti which is a 120cm instead but still hankered after a Farandole.

I seriously started the hunt again around 2 years ago and been asking in boutique and stalking online to no avail.

Last week they miraculously appeared online and I ordered both 120 and 160 to enable me to compare.

Having retried them on now my instant thought was it doesn’t look as chunky as I remember.
I don’t know if H has reduced the weight and size or whether it is a mis-remembrance.

I am now torn on length as both do something slightly different.
160 very statement like and versatile against 120 slightly more casual and maybe more wearable.

So would really appreciate opinions whether both would have a place in the wardrobe and to hear if anyone has both and why it was a good or bad decision.
Like all H if I could spread the acquisition out over a period of time that would probably be sensible but I fear I may not see another one for another 2 years or if at all.

Thank you in advance for your replies.

Personally, it seems redundant to me to have both lengths. I like to double up on long necklaces, so I would do 160cm. Plus you already have Confetti in 120cm. Do you think you'll get the use out of both?

I love all my farandoles and own all three- 80, 120 and 160. Some i use as a belt, others for my woc and sometimes i wear all three together.

I don’t own the confetti though tempted by feel the farandole is more versatile and you can use it with any of your wallets.

Can you share some pics, so we get an idea of how the proportions works on you?

Hi T thank you for responding.
I agree that the 160 is the most versatile out of the two.
The 120 feels a little more understated.
I am seriously considering your question on whether I would get use out of both.
I don’t want to get both to leave one only used occasionally.
The confetti only gets worn for fancy occasions which is very infrequently!
Good things to think about, thank you again.

Hi C thank you for responding.
I feel that the design is so good and very versatile in all sizes.
Glad you enjoy all of your lengths.
I think having all 3 lengths would be the ultimate for complete flexibility and choice.
The confetti is very pretty and good for dresses and events but quite different from a Farandole.
I probably wouldn’t wear it over say a jumper, but the Farandole works that way.
Just need to consider how much use I may actually be able to have to decide whether worth the splurge for both.
Thank you again. 😊

Hi CC thank you for responding.
So your reply got me to try on with a variety of outfits rather than just my “best” which was really useful thank you.
I have now taken loads of photos and am technically challenged so am having trouble including in the post.
But it was really helpful to see what it looked like in more everyday situations so thank you for the idea.
Thank you again for responding. 😊

I thought i would share some of the sizes and ways i use them to help anyone interested. The one with my woc and chain hanging is actually the size 80. I also use mine as a belt for dresses too.

Hi C thank you so much for these you look great wearing them.
This is super helpful to see the versatility and ways to combine different lengths.
These should be in an ode to farandole thread as I am sure others would appreciate seeing these.
Maybe a mod would consider starting a thread since the Farandole is so popular.

I am still having a head and heart dilemma.
Interestingly the 160 proportionally has more motifs than the 120.
120 has 15, and 160 has 22.
I feel this ups the luxe factor of the 160 which makes the case for the 120 being a bit more low key.
I did also find a weight of a vintage 160 at 135g whereas the new one is weighing in at 110g.

Thank you again for taking the time to post the pictures. X

I already owned both, not at the same time.
I began with a 160, and although I loved doubling or tripling it it ALWAYS ended moving, and I ended being uncomfortable with the longer part pulling the shorter one, litterally choking with the choker.
I don’t like having to fuss with my outfit during the day so I sold it, got a 120 and never looked back.
Maybe wearing a 80 + a 120 together could give comfort and style. Oh I should forget immediately.

I know exactly what you mean on both counts!
I am finding the “length’ end pulling the loops a bit too.
And now @Gourmetgal has introduced the 80 into the mix too!

Thanks for your thoughts.
