Hi board! This is my first foray into Gucci. I'm about to enter a new decade of life (4-0 -- eek) and marking another chapter closing in my life, so I want to treat myself decently this year. 
I have the opportunity to get a pre-loved horsebit hobo in luscious black python from a reputable seller. Like new condition. Honestly its probably the most chic bag I have seen in person that isn't stuffy. Just sultry, beautiful, exotic....yet somehow understated with its simple design.
Some have said python is just going to get ugly quickly, others say its durable if treated well. There is the ethical concern of snake skin. The bag design is not my usual, but it is really a work of art; more of an "occasion" bag (bdays, holiday parties etc). Just wondering if anyone had it and what your thoughts were.
Price is $899 with layaway available. I am consigning off a few bags, and I expect my out of pocket would be $450. From that angle, its a steal, but is it worth it? I also considered a Balenciaga but they are looking dated to me. This baby is EXCITING!
