Anyone ever heard of LANCEL or LANCASTER Brand Bags?

I know I'm late to the party, but I didn't see anyone else comment about Lancaster. I owned a couple of Lancaster bags which I purchased while living in France. I LOVED them. The leather was soft as butter, beautifully made, I got compliments constantly. Sadly a house fire destroyed them but I had them for several years before the fire and they held their shape and color beautifully....and I carried the a LOT...including on the metro and other crowded public transport in France, which are not the cleanest. I would highly recommend Lancaster bags.

Just a note, my Lancaster bags each had a beautiful heart pendant on them. It's one of Lancaster's marks. (I didn't realize they did comsmetics)

Update to my original post (5 years later, lol)...
I've had a chance to check out Lancel and Lancaster bags in Paris, as DH's family is french. Lancel is beautiful and high-end. They have a boutique on the Champs-elysees (sp?) and I almost bought the BB (bridget bardot) bag, but saw it was made in China. Just didn't cut it for me, buying french brand bag made in China. Lancaster was the same deal. I found it comparable to Radley, fossil, type brands, as they varied in styles. Mid-level price range. Sticking to my LVs...

Thanks for the clarifying this. I recently came across Lancaster online and had never heard of it. Seeing a few pictures and videos on YouTube was all that was available. I had an inkling it wasn’t as high end as expected from what I saw on videos.

Recently saw Lancel brand bags in Dillard's Dept. Store (FL). My opinion is still same as my post from 2/15/2012 !!
