So I absolutely hate scratches. So much so that it affects how often I want to use a bag once it happens. So I have found a solution that works for me and is 100% safe.

I use a glossy clear "hard" top coat nail polish on the CC turnlock where it can get bumped and scratches or scuffed and also on the grommets where the chain comes through where the chain can rub over time causing wear.

It is completely invisible once dry unlike the stickers, and best part is if the top coat gets dull or scratched you can use nail polish remover and and a q tip (ear bud or whatever you call them) to remove it and reapply a fresh new coat. This has kept my chanel HW looking absolutely brand new! Just be careful if removing to not get acetone nail polish remover on the leather as I dont know how it would affect it hence using q tips for more precise work.

What do you do to protect your HW? Stickers? Clear coat? Just leave it bare?

I couldn't ever do that to my bags tbh, I just use them and love them! Scratches no one but I can see don't bother me, I'll be honest, I don't ever even notice any scratches anyhow.
I know I have OCD (not just with my bags LOL) and I am a bit clumsy no matter how hard I try to avoid bumps etc. It always seems to happen somehow.
Honestly I wouldnt do it though if it was in any way visible at all or could be damaging. You really cant tell at all. I know others use those stickers so thats why I brought it up. I wish I could be as carefree as you are.

I just leave mine bare but I'm definitely interested in trying this on my Chanel card holder hardware because I use it so often. Thank you for this.

I just leave mine, I'm happy doing so. I want all the hw to look the same age, chains, charms and all. I actually like all my things to look good, but like I've had them for a while so maybe I'm different.

Vintage ghw shouldn't tarnish, chip or flake anyway, don't know much about more recent.

No. Never. I have a lot of vintage Chanel and I've never experienced any problems with them. Hairline scratches are normal wear and tear and don't bother me at all. You should just enjoy your bags.

Could not bring myself to do any kind of protective coating on anything lol. Maybe a suede spray for boots but that was when I lived on the East Coast.

Clear nail polish also yellows naturally overtime.
And acetone is dangerous near pretty much anything. Strips down coatings, paints, any kind of leather treatment or finish.
You should see tanner leatherstein's videos, that's how he strips all the paint and plastic off leather.

Though you use a qtip, I'm sure you're far more careful than I ever will be lol.

Nope. I would never on my Chanel. I did use a clear coat on my LV SLGS with the colored buttons to keep them from wearing off, it seemed to work fine with no issues or looking funky, although I don't actually own any of them anymore so I couldn't vouch for the longevity...
