Anyone else still on a "Lockdown"?

Sydney is coming out of 3+ months lockdown, now that we have reached 70% fully vaccinated for 16 years old and above. Today is the first day and fully-vaxxed people are free to shop non-critical Retail, go to the pub, get a haircut, etc.
I’m excited about going back to work... but I’m anxious about non-vaxxed being argumentative and try to get in stores, as I work in Retail and I have to check their vaccination status to let them in. Fingers crossed that there will be minimal drama, especially for my staff. We will open up completely Dec. 1st, vaccinated or not, since by then we will hit 90% fully vaccinated.

I'm in the UK, just outside of London, and life is pretty much back to 'normal' right now. Although masks are advised inside public places, I noticed that since the mandate was lifted (July 19th) it has gone from approx 90% wearing them to indoors to, I'd say approx 30% of people still wearing them now. I continued to wear them when shopping as I felt it appropriate to protect the staff however most staff now do not wear them at all and I have to say I rarely do now. My kids' school require them while on the premises so I obviously wear it there.

I'm beyond FED UP with being in LOCKDOWN in VIC!!!!!!! On our 6th lockdown!! Nearly 13 weeks thus far - But the silver lining is when we hit 70% Fully vaxx we have our FREEDOM DAY!!!!! It cannot come quick enough!! Hopefully around the 21st of this month which is next week!!! I want a manicure, it's been well over 4 months since I had one and I need my hair colored and cut, it hasn't been done since xmas last year??????

If you haven't been vaccinated, nothing is open for you, it's only for the fully vaccinated and can prove it. No retail open until 80% fully vaxx.

I’m in Auckland , NZ we have been in a very tough lock down since August , we can’t go to work or school and no restaurant, bars or shopping malls open. We have been told nothing will change until 90% of the country are fully vaccinated. No hairdressers, beauty therapist etc. businesses are going under and mental health is not good.
I am so sorry. I am in Sydney and our lockdown lasted 4 months. They allowed vaccinated people to work and socialise to varying degrees once we got to 70% and 80% vaccinated, unvaccinated have to wait until December 1 to participate in non essential services. I can't image imagine having to wait for 90%, it seems somewhat pointless given there are still going to be cases even at 90% vaccinated, why not allow some freedoms as vaccination rates rise? The mental health toll is huge. My anxiety was sky high during lockdown, watching the press conferences every day was such a trigger for me I had to stop watching. One of my neighbours had a mental health episode during lockdown, I can only imagine how scary it must have been for her and her family, the whole thing is just heartbreaking. I know so many people who were retrenched or stood down over the past two years, and all of the government support stops the minute lockdown is over, yet businesses have not recovered. In Sydney, we have a new Premier and he acts like Covid never happened, the lack of empathy is a joke.

wow, thats terrible. I guess i should count myself fortunate that I don't live somewhere like Australia or NZ. I worked pretty much the entire time, from March 2020 as my job was considered essential and I don't know how my mental health would have been if I had to stay home and not go anywhere for last two years. My state in US has no restrictions and everyone lives normally
We are here in SW Florida where we are a free state. No mask mandates. No passports. No vax requirements. No maximum number of people requirements. It's hard to be happy for ourselves when most of our family is in Michigan, so we try not to flaunt it because our number of covid cases are the lowest in the nation.
Hypothetically, If we “all” can look at the big picture with a completely open mind, this pandemic would already be done if it wasn’t for the paranoia and anxiety and belief in conspiracy/fake news.
Sit back, like way back, and see this as a planet of beings trying to survive. Not a collection of governments try to control.

Yes we should get a little freedom before 90% but our Prime Minister has said until every area of the country is at 90% no freedoms. I think she’s on an ego trip. People at loosing homes and businesses. My city is about to hit 90% fully vaccinated but to get to travel out of the city the rest of the country needs to hit that target. We still have increasing numbers each day they need too set a date, everyone that wants to be vaccinated can do so by then and after that let us open up, minority ruling the majority. My father had a hear attack in the second week of our lockdown and no one not even my mum could go the the hospital to see him and be there we nearly lost him and he had to go through it all alone, thankfully the nurses were wonderful but still not the same,. Yes n if need tonight there is a couple who’s baby is in NICU and they haven’t seen him in 2 weeks and won’t for a further as a family member has had COVID and the baby is left in its incubation pod and not csrried around by nurses etc due to him maybe having COVID even though he has had 4 negative tests, very sad and wrong. I have watched a Sydney and Melbourne , glad you are getting to have mor freedom now

I am here in the US and to be honest, where I live (I do not speak for the rest of the US or any of our neighboring states) we are somewhat back to normal. More than 70% of the state is vaccinated but the government kept moving the goal post and PEOPLE WERE FED UP and rightfully so.
TRUTH. News and media ARE FINALLY covering what even vaccinated people can still spread, and now they roll out all these boosters? Nice try. Its not about public safety, its control at this point
I can't even keep up with all the changing rules over the last 2 years... I just get my vaccinations and wear a mask everywhere. I've been to concerns, eat out, go to the mall, etc so I don't feel like my life is that inconvenienced (a huge privilege I know) but that may be because I feel more confident doing those things while vaxxed. I didn't get vaccinated to avoid getting COVID... I think it's inevitable we'll all get COVID. I did it to lower the chances of serious illness when I do get it. Seems like same as the flu shot to me honestly; I used to always get the flu after getting the shot but it doesn't wipe me out like when I don't get it.
