I see quite a few beautiful Coach bags in the wild that are in rough shape. The leather is good, but they look dull, dry and scratched. I know they've likely never seen leather balm. It's almost painful to see, lol. I have a strong urge to start carrying around a bottle of leather moisturizer with me so I can give them a quick rub down when I see them. Instead, I just bite my tongue and look away unless it's someone I know. I want to say, "Hey, did you know this bag can look as good as new with a little bit of love!" Or "Here, let me take that home with me and I'll bring it back tomorrow looking snazzy."

I just saw a gorgeous classic black Willis that was in dire need, so this is fresh on my mind, lol.

I've had the same experience with a Glam Tote. It was a light-colored one that was incredibly dirty. I think it affected me particularly because I had one in a similar color. Kind of like seeing someone in the same dress you have on but she looks really bad in it, lol. Like people are gonna associate that with you

This reminds of the time I took my girls to the playground in matching cotton dresses and there was another girl there in the same dress, except hers was really faded! I was wondering how many washes it would take to get them to look like that, but ours never faded. It must have been their water.

I cringe when I see someone put a purse on the floor. My daughter just gave me her nylon backpack to clean and the bottom has ground in dirt. She never takes care of her purses; just brings them home for me to fix up.

I've often wanted to give strangers new bags when I see them carrying bags that should have been retired a long time ago!

I have often thought about carrying leather conditioner when I'm carrying my vintage bags so I could fix every scratch the minute it happens!

Well one time I had a customer come to me for glasses. She had on a really scratched up Coach bag. I'm not even sure if it's real but it looked old. I just had to tell her to buy some leather conditioner so that it can look pretty again. She seemed very appreciative that I gave her some recommendations. :smile1:

I don't see very many beat up leather Coach bags near me. I do see a lot of signature fabric bags that are really dirty. I am talking so dirty that I don't think giving them a bath would be much help.

I am so happy to hear from someone who feels the same way about once lovely Coach purses in dire need of "feeding!" If they can't throw it in the washing machine, it doesn't get cleaned. I actually like the feel of leather and making it like new. It's the equestrian in me.

Ohh goodness! Thankfully I don't see this often because it would make me so sad. I rarely see leather Coach at all anymore, but when I do see it they look pretty good. Now those dirty canvas Coach... Ugh. Don't even get me started.

I have one of those too. :nogood:
