thanks hm! I was studying too and I thought it looked like jford. But since I am such a newbie, I thought to get a forth or fifth opnion!

IMO Ardennes' grain is more "3D", this unidentify leather to me looks a little bit flater than I would expect on Ardennes... Let me know what you think! TIA!!!

Courchevel has definitely been used for Birkins. There have been a few on ebay recently, in fact I think Sandia has a couple up now?
I think it's used currently on the pony coin purse as well.

^^^ Isn't it too slouchy for Courcheval?

Not really, if it's been used: I have a Kelly in Courchevel that's 17 years old, and I also had a Birkin that I kept 10 years, they both became softer over time, and especially the Birkin, being bigger, did "sit down" a bit, for lack of better words!

And the reference guide says it only appears in smaller leather goods. Unless... This is one exception...

Courchevel has been discontinued for bags; as the reference guide states, I think it's still available for small leather goods, but that's all! Pity b/c I think it's a gorgeous leather, much nicer than Epsom, which is similar!

You often find Courchevel and Vachette Ardennes used bags on ebay; this is b/c in the 80's/90's these were the most popular H non exotic leathers, like Togo/Clemence today! HTH
