Hi all!!! I really want to share with you something that happens to me! You may can help me or I can identify more ppl and don't feel super weirdo LOL Anyway, I have a huge collection of purses! Nothing super fancy or duper expensive! I love real leather brandy purses so I have couples from Santa Marinella Store (very famous in Brazil where I am from), they loo like Michael Kors Brand and they are very expensive just like MK! Also Luz da Lua brand (from Brazil too), Michael Kors and Coach! They all are inside their dusty bags and storage in a special place in my closet! I have like 50 of them and keep buying (now Im into Michael Kors Python bags ) if I see a nice used deal on ebay or poshmark! The thing is, a baby them so much I never wear them! Is that weird??? I have a lot brand new ones very nice ones, but I keep them in their dust bags! I feel that using them will worn they out,or I will damage ... sometimes I feel like I need help LOL for this reason, I always end up using the worst purse I have hahaha that makes sense??? Anybody else here with this purse paranoia? haha I don't want to be alone in this weird obsession haha

It sounds like you love to collect. There is nothing wrong with that if you stay within your financial means. :) enjoy what makes you happy. But also consider why you don't use the bags. Is it because you're afraid they will get used looking? Or is it more about collecting and less about using? Many tpf users love to collect. Others, collect but also rotate. Some purses will always be special occasion bags only. Try using them for small things where they will be safe and see how you feel. Signs of use are signs of love. Enjoy!

I think I might do that to an extent. If I know I'm going outdoors or to the beach or traveling, I'm not bringing my designer purse, right? But at the same time, I do know what you mean about not wanting to have them show wear/tear too soon. But I'm of the mindset that I buy it, I'm gonna use it! Kind of the same way how men buy fancy cars but never drive them. Give them to me and I'll definitely drive them ha!

I use my bags, I don't see the point of keeping them in a cupboard, what a waste! I try not to scuff them, I avoid putting them on the floor if I can, and I always make sure they are moisturised and so on, but I think they're made to be used and enjoyed. Why don't you pick one of your collection and just use it for a week? It might break your duck :)

I feel like im hoarding purses LOL I buy them, but I baby them so much I don't want to use daily...I think it will ruin...something will damage! I mean, if I go grocery I don't want to place it in a cart...its just a weird feeling that I cant stop myself to think about it! I have a 8 years old purse I never used and it is sooo pretty! Some purses are brand new!!!

I know! It is a waste! Most that I cant see myself wearing them with 70 years old lol They are so pretty...maybe is why I babe them too much! I just don't know how I can be free of these thoughts :p

I'd recommend visiting the Handbag Care & Maintenance forum here for tips on caring for your bags. Proper maintenance on your bags will keep them looking pristine for many years. Something like conditioning your leather bags will prevent scratches and cracking and make it easier to clean any spots that may happen. This may help alleviate your concerns.

I used to be like you. I had bags that I carried and then I had bags I was scared to take out of their dustbags, but I think the crunch line for me was when my Mulberry bag fell on the floor and I stepped on the postman's lock, bending it slightly. Imperfection -> not scared anymore. I took Ant out a lot and suddenly realized I wanted to carry all of my bags. They're not crazy pricey and mostly practical. Now I buy things that are practical and I WANT to carry.
If you want to collect, that's fine. As was stated earlier, just stay within your means. Some day you may find yourself wanting to take out something gorgeous and show it around town. :smile1:

Absolutely agree with you, small imperfection = no big deal - in the whole scheme of things, its just my imperfect life, and that's ok

I don't see the harm. As long as you enjoy them. Nobody thinks its a big deal when people never use the china in their china cabinets, but its beautiful to look at. As long as you're happy with your bags and how you use them is all that matters.
