Anybody else hate Fall and its drabby colors?

I drove to a Coach outlet this morning, got out, spent about 2 minutes in front of their display windows, turned around, got in the car, and left. I know black and brown are pretty popular, but what's wrong with some muted reds, oranges, and yellows? The Michael Kors outlet was a few doors down and it was just as bad. Normally I would have gone to the boutique, but I wanted something for every day wear and I thought just maybe the outlet would have something different.

For those of us up north, Fall is depressing enough as it is, I like a bit of color to bring some cheer into my life. I guess I will have to wait and do all my new bag buying in the spring like I did this year.

I am surprised that they didn't have any orange (pumpkin color), mustard, burgundy or dark red bags? Those seem like classic autumn colors to me. I like black and brown bags but it's nice to have other options in rich, warm colors like burgundy.

I love Fall colors, especially the trees and all the scenic beauty of nature. But as for the long winters that follow soon after - well, I try not to think about it too much! Spring is my favorite season.

My comfort colours are pretty boring, black, browns, khaki, muted purple. But why not some oxblood, or, as mentioned, some muted fall reds, oranges etc.?
I remember when I was in my twenties (a thousand years ago) spending a year travelling in Central and South America to come home to total colour deprivation after the vibrant colours of the indigenous peoples of that area. But you slowly slip back into what your culture dictates I guess. Vancouver gets pretty drab during the winter so I always appreciate pops of colour, I do mine mostly with scarves!

Not a fall color person either. I’m lucky enough to live in a warm state in which I can wear short sleeves even in October (it’s going to be in the upper 80s next week). I’m currently carrying a pink and orange bag. Before this, I carried a different all pink bag. I love vibrant colors. More often than not I’m wearing black pants and a brightly colored top to work.

I love autumn colours and I love brown! But also autumn is all about using texture as much as colour, so it’s cashmere, suede and soft wool for me. Lately I’ve been binge-wearing my locally made bridle leather bag. With the linen dresses I was wearing a few weeks ago this would’ve made me feel too much like a hippy, but with a thick jumper, cashmere scarf and boots it feels just right

Oh my. This bag is EVERYTHING. Where did you get it? Do they have an online presence? Beautiful for fall!

And to the OP, it must just be your store is going rogue (Sorry). Mine had a bright yellow, orange and burgundy rogue in their window along with some Kat bags that were coloured as well, I believe.

Thank you! What a lovely thing to say  I bought it from an independent cobbler/leather goods shop near my home (in UK). The owner makes a few bags but doesn’t advertise, as he says he’s too busy to take on more. I just happened to see it in the window when I was passing one day and loved it - bought it on sight

I really like autumn colors! Wine, chocolate, mustard, dark navy...all gorgeous. I wear bright and light colored scarves and gloves and sometimes also bags but I do have a soft spot for darks as well.

I certainly don't mind a little of it because I enjoy some aspects of Fall as a season, of course I do. Perhaps I should have titled the thread a little differently.

But there is such as thing as too much of a good thing. I agree, it could have been this particular store because winter is just around the corner in Canada and the northern states of the US. Maybe they sell completely different colors in the tropics or during the southern hemisphere spring/summer, I would hope they do at least. I don't think I'd want to be buying autumn tones if I were in Australia right now. But with Coach, I cannot place an international order with their overseas website, I've tried it with bags that were sold out here but there were plenty in London because I don't think they celebrated Mother's Day at the same time we do, so that whole line was widely available.

I'm using a bright pink bag probably tomorrow. I love bright colors for fall/winter. I'm also up north and things tend to get a bit grey...
