I know that the metallic on Gucci's leather wears off over time but does anyone know of a way to prevent it? Maybe some kind of coating or something similar? I want to bid on a beautiful Hysteria on eBay but it is metallic and already shows small signs of the metallic rubbing off on the corners (see pic). Not sure I want to have to baby a leather piece or worse ruin it. (I apologize if this topic was already mentioned...couldn't find a thread.)

^ It doesn't look too bad ATM to me

 Can't help you but I would also be interested if anyone else knows. The same has happened to my (non-Gucci) make-up case. From what I read on the Chanel forum (many have had a much worse problem there) I think there is no cure. Do a search and read through the Chanel threads though, it's very interesting.
