I know this may sound silly... but any tips on how to spray your bag?

I didn't spray my oak bays when i bought it ... (i know - that's almost like a crime!). So it's quite battered.

Now that I have a lovely new bag... I want to look after it well... I have sprayed all my other bags so, so far so good.

How do you girls do it? Spray it before you use it? Or spray it the night before?

Any advice is welcome! :smile1:

Collonil dries so quickly that I think you can use the bag fairly soon after spraying. I do. Just spray outside as it's really strong stuff.

I tend to do 3 coats, allowing it to dry and giving a good buff with the dustbag in between coats. Then you're good to go!

Spray before you use it.

Awww.. thanks! Didn't think about using the dust bag to buff it?!
I tend to spray my alexa each time i use it... (i only ever use it a like once/twice a month) so it's like a month spray...

I don't have the gel version - should i invest in one?

I only use the gel when there are scatches on the bag to even them out, or when the bag feels dry. The gel does darken the bag a tiny bit, but it darkens over time anyway. I spray my bags a few times the first month, and then every so often when I feel I need it. It doesn't really rub off, so there's no need to keep applying every time you use it.

I've used both spray and gel and haven't really noticed much difference in the effect but I've only used it on my dark bags. Agree with Dazzlepuff that the gel is good for a bit of tlc. It takes longer to apply and dry in my experience.

You're good spraying after every use - I give it one big go when they're new and then that's it. Maybe I should be reapplying! It's amazing how it works though.

I double sprayed my os alexa when I first got it... then I was out once and I got caught in the rain (only running from the car to the house), I noticed the rain just sort of rolls of it... and no stains whatsoever!

Will spray my Chestnut Tillie at some point...

I spray my Alexa every few weeks and use the gel to brighten her up (I use her every day) and so far so good. Should I treat my sparkle tweed Tillie in the same way? Very delicate, can't make a mistake with this one!

The SAs told me that you can spray the sparkle tweed Tillie with the same spray... but not sure how often?

Thank u! I've been too scared to spray it but I'm desperate to start using it, so I'll do it first thing tomorrow! I bought the satchel but I love the tote too, I think that will be my next purchase if I can find one - your chestnut tote is stunning!

Hi girls,
I also need your advice concerning Collonil. I could not find any Collonil Waterstop but the shoe repairer has Collonil Anti Rain so I bought the bottle. I am wondering if I should spray my new Mulberry with Anti rain or should I order a Watershop online. I really cannot wait to use my new bag but I do not want to use it before waterproofing it.
Many thanks,

Many thanks,

I have a bottle of this nano tech Collonil and it works just like waterstop (or 20% better :graucho:).

I'm too scared to spray my new powder beige sparkle Daria clutch! Does it have any effect on the hardware or can it just be wiped off? I'm worried about spray getting on the big RG disc in case it reacts and discolours it.

I think it should be fine! I don't wipe the hardware after I sprayed it... Maybe I should? So far so good...

Btw, I'm so happy that I have a practice of giving my bag a good spray each time I use it. Excessive, I know but I took my ink alexa out with me today for shopping and my cousin opened a bottle of sparking water and it sprayed all over my bag!!!! Luckily I sprayed the bag this morning so no water marks was left on it. How lucky was I? Although if it was an oak coloured one then it may have been a different story....!
