Hi Everyone ,,

like Many TPFers here .. i'm an HERMESholic !
and a professional photographer which i really love ..

i was thinking of combining both things that i love !

i'm looking for a BAg from hermes .. that would be suitable for one professional camera and one extra lens with it ..

here's a photo of an ideal bag .. the camera im using is also a Leica M 8.2 which is the same size as the one in this bag

thanx for your help ..

i really like the Steve bag ..
although i would like to have more info about it ..
as the boutique we have in Qatar doesn't have a lot of verity of bags ..
what colors and leathers does it come in ? and does it have pockets in the inside or not?

Thanx alot for your input .. i appreciate it :)

The Steve does have a zippered internal pocket. I also wish Hermès made a bag suitable for cameras, but I just don't think any are really suitable. Even when they owned a third of Leica and came out with an H-branded Leica camera, they never bothered making a decent camera bag for it. (Or, if they did, I never saw it anywhere.)

the jypsiere is a very pretty bag .. but i dont think its very suitable for a camera as you said ..

Exactly !! i wish they had thought of that ..
especially that cameras are becoming very popular (larger cameras) ..

Any other suggestions ???

i would really love to find a Yohji bag in barenia .. but as i read its only by order ..
i would order one this summer from paris FSH but i need a bag at the moment ..
i appreciate your help :)

H sold Leica a while back, unprofitable seemed so

Althani,

Why don't you design your dream photographer bag and ask your store manager to submit it as a custom order?
Let them know you are a Leica user ....(I might be mistaking but I think Hermes and Leica are/were somehow related)

Hermes is seaking to expand their collection and in my opinion some really well designed bag for a specific function would do great ! Much greater than the random bags they have been trying to push lately....

Plus, the bag will carry your name :smile1: How does that sound ? The Althani Bag ....
Sounds great , IMHO...

It's a "were" thing. They made one camera and then sold their one-third stake to a private equity company.

But perlerare is absolutely right -- H encourages their customers to "make them dream". There's some custom cases they've done for musicians on the world of H site. I'm sure it'd be staggeringly pricey, but wow, I can only imagine how nice it'd be to own a one-of-a-kind H creation!

Thanks for the update. I have been a bit behind I guess....

Or how proud one would feel if the bag goes in production and other potographers adopt it !!!

aah .. you guys are making me DREAM !
i Guess i'm gonna ask for one to be specially made once im in Paris ...
But again i'm looking for something Practical right now ..
and wouldn't mind keeping it later ..

does anyone know what colors the Steve bag exists in ?

I've only seen them in neutral colors: black, graphite, and beige. Which for me is perfect: if I saw the large one in a dark green I'd have to drop the $6600 right then and there, even though I know I'd never use it.

i Think Graphite Was Made for me !!
i love that color but never dared to get it in a Birkin ..
and for a camera bag i'm gonna need something Dark as its going to be carried Messenger style against Jeans most of the time .. so i need something Tough ..
Thanx alot for the info :D:D

Athani,

What a fun "problem" to have now.
Great ideas in previous posts, esp. P's special order idea.

IMO, the Steve bag is nice, but too soft sided for a primo camera.
Actually, the nylon bags w/ air pillows r probably best for shock absorption, but not that high on style.

here's a thought: How about an HaC in something very sturdy, like vache naturel? This bag was originally designed to carry saddles, I believe. Why not cameras?
Maybe u could place a liner w/ some shock absorbing qualities, inside the bag. I don't know where one could buy this, but some computer cases/sleeves might work.

good luck and let us know when the Althani is available to purchase!
