I’m not referring to regretting that you bought the love bracelet but more so the buying experience. What would you have done differently? Were there questions you regret not asking prior to completing purchase and walking out of the store? Anything you felt you could have researched more before entering the boutique?

If you are sure about what you want to buy, I don’t think there is any need to overthink the process. Having said that my only advice is to check the item carefully for scratches, dings etc. It may look new but may still have some defects. I find it such a hassle to exchange items.

This!!! And I’ll also tag on, I am a very experienced Cartier shopper and have almost always had stellar customer service experiences. That said, there was one time I went to a boutique and was paired up with someone who was inexperienced and she really wasn’t helpful at all when asking about advice, etc. (with the love bracelet you may want advice on fit or color, for example). She really just agreed with everything I said and didn’t seem at all knowledgeable about the product lines, which is rare for Cartier. When I went back to take another look, I was paired with a senior sales associate and boy oh boy did that make ALL the difference. If you want to be certain you are getting someone knowledgable, then when you call to make the appt you may want to say you want someone experienced.

Perhaps not really a regret (as it was reversible) – but I’ve learnt to listen to my own voice, after the first experience of buying a Cartier for myself.
“Most people will wear like this” – as shared by the SA (not saying he is wrong). So I brought home a bracelet that he thinks looks better on me (in terms of sizing). I went home and rethink and decided to go back to the store to exchange to the one which he thinks it’s a tad too small for me.

But to my personal preference, I love it snug, despite what looks good or preferred by others. So don't doubt yourself. :flowers:

I have some (not all!) really good SAs in Europe - not the ones here in the US - who dare to tell you the truth. Like in the other thread not to buy a JUC to wear it alongside a watch. Or not no get a Tank Louis as it is too small. Other than in Europe you only hear this super-friendly but usual blah-blah like "that fits you so well" or "that looks soooo beautiful on you". Same with Hermès btw.

I wonder if it’s a culture difference that perhaps they’re more blunt? I’d prefer that honestly to the typical sales tactics in the states.

Yeah, this might well be the case. Originally being from Europe my bluntness here in this forum is not appreciated

Honestly, I am as well shocked when hearing such brutal truth when you're 100 % sure to get that item but I like it in the long run. For example my custom made watch - still waiting btw. - is not liked personally by one of my SAs. He told me that and this is totally fine. Which SA here in the US would tell you that? Asia and ROW I have no slight idea.

Interesting thread—thank you @santanagucci for starting it.
It could be helpful for those new to the Cartier experience. For example, identifying questions they may not think to ask or things to consider, such as how an item wears long term, understanding one’s comfort level with inevitable scratches on some pieces, stacking opportunities, complementary lines, lifestyle, etc. That’s where a really good SA provides guidance, but I wasn’t very knowledgeable when I got my first piece and although my SA was very nice and no pressure (almost to a fault!), these things were not brought up and are often discussed here. (Fortunately I have no regrets with any of my purchases.) However, I have learned a lot from all the posters here!
As @Parisluxury stated, if you’re sure of what you want to buy then it should be pretty straightforward.

It‘s so interesting when you consider how cultural differences impact the buying experience. I hope to get the opportunity to purchase in Europe one day!

How does yours look please? I am struggling st the moment with the fit of my small juc and not sure if I should size up or not, but they dont have any sizes in stock so can't try on in store at the moment. If you could post a photo it would be appreciated. Thank you
