I searched and did not come up with anything, so here goes: I have a short pixie like cut and I am looking for new products to use... I need something with staying power like a wax or paste that I can use that's not too wet and will keep my hair in place and allow me to shape it/ spike it etc. I am currently using Paul Mitchel Dry Wax and Alterna Pliable Control Paste, they are eh...

I'd like to be able to make my hair do something like this and stay!

Any ideas???? Many thanks!:flowers:

First off that cut is super cute! I have the same type hair as you (thick, coarse, heavy) and I had it in a pixie last summer. Loved it! It was super easy to style and always looked put-together.

My personal favorite was Garnier brilliantine shine pomade, but it doesn't have a lot of hold (just tons of shine). For something stronger, I like Samy I-style "I'm Flexible" paste. I've found it at Walgreen's. It also isn't very expensive, around $5 or $6.

I have another one at home I like, but now I can't remember the brand. It is in a clear plastic container with a light blue lid and it smells like pina colada. It is SUPER strong, though. I'll look when I get home tonight and post the brand.

Thanks for your response pmburk! I think I might give the d:fi a try!

Anyone else... I am open to any type of product not just pastes & waxes if it will help me to achieve the effects I am looking for!

I REALLY like Bed Head's Manipulator. It's a thicker, sticky putty... and you can definitely make your hair stay where you want it to! I don't have shorter hair, but my boyfriend uses it and loves it. His hair is really thick and curly... and he is able to make it spike up/look messy pretty easily with that stuff.

scoobie, I have seen your haircut and I LOVE it!! I have thick, heavy, hair, too, and have had it cut super short at times as well. The product that works the best for me is Jonathan Dirt, the kind that comes in a tub. It is not too heavy or oil at all, but it does make your hair stay. You can get it at Sephora or Beauty.com:

Another product is Sumo Tech by Bumble & Bumble...I have used this and while I like Dirt better (it's a bit more flexible), it is also good:

B&B also offers Sumo Wax, which is more of a traditional hard wax:

HTH!

I was going to recommend Jonathan Dirt too :P

Also, Garnier makes a paste, Beach hair?? Not sure what it's called but it comes in a pot w/ a yellow top.
