I had been stalking the Hamilton bags on the MK site. I decided to pop in the MK store by my house and sure enough they had 1 of the 3 I had my eyes on. It was the last one (I know, I know...) so I just HAD to buy it. But when I got home I noticed that the bag isn't flawlessly finished. On the bottom corner, where the leather is cut so it can be folded in (its the only way I can explain it), it shows the inside of the leather...like, without a trim. I took pics but I don't know if you can see it. Does anyone else have this bag? Is this how its supposed to be? I know I'm picky with bags so maybe I'm just being anal.

I don't have one, but if that strap was removable, I'd be jumping on that! It's a beautiful bag, finishing concerns aside. :)

I had one but found it to be too heavy, bulky and I did not like how the chain could not come off.

I had one in brown and your not being anal at all, it should not look like that.

It is a pretty bag though, I love the personality it has and you rock it well.

I might get the smaller size one.

I like the chain strap so that doesn't bug me so much. Im more bothered by the finishing on the corners. I actually took it to the MK store with the intention of returning it. In the end, I walked out of the store with it (sigh). I like the color because I have a hard time finding nice blue bags. For whatever reason I've never purchased a MK bag so I'm not sure about the quality. I wouldn't want those ends to unravel for whatever reason.

How has the Hamilton held up? I just picked the black one up at bloomingdales =)

and i was super excited for it, until a sales associate told me she is seeing a lot of them get scratched easily... she suggested I use a leather protectant (that I would use anyway...)

I have never owned a michael kors bags so i have not idea how they hold up. I feel like the leather is a bit thinner than my marc jacobs bags....

any input on Michael Kors bags would be greatly appreciated !!!

I've been eyeing this bag as a work bag (the black leather with silver hardware). I think the tote, however, is too big for me so I'm holding out for the satchel. Unfortunately, it looks like the satchel doesn't come out until June so I guess I'm waiting. I'm still on the fence though, I have neck pain/spasms and I worry about carrying the bag with all that hardware on it.

Also, the comments of it scratching easily worry me. We'll see what I come up with in the next few months. I was hoping to get a work bag out of the Macy's F&F sale, but who knows now!:thinkin:

I returned mine beacuse the leather and thread on the top (on the inside edge) started to peel and it had some scratches on the side panels. Also, the corners werent finished properly and you could see the inside of the leather. When I went back to see if they had the same bag but one that wasn't flawed, I picked the one they had left and just my luck, the trim on the handles was peeling off in pieces and instead of navy blue it was pink. :nono:
The worst was that the salesgirl asked her coworker, "That hasn't happened to yours has it?" Um, no it may not have happened to hers yet but it might! The other girl told me that the "first batch" were better made. Now, since I'm stubborn, I went by Macys and got the cement one. So far so good *crossing fingers*. I might also get it in brown or black. For whatever reason I'm obsessed with this bag! Rarely does a bag catch my eye like this one.


Gingersnap- the brown one I was looking at had scratches on handles that wouldn't rub off. There was a also a scratch going diagonally down the front. I tried rubbing it out with my handle and it didn't do a thing.

I'm really glad I found this thread. I was looking at some MK bags & wanted to know what people thought about them. I'm still tempted to buy one. I love the look of the Lattington Satchel & the Austin shoulder bag. Anyone have input on those? I would love to know! :hugs:

Went out today looking for a new bag; something to hold my laptop. Found a Marc Jacobs 'Jen' satchel and Prada Saffiano tote; really liked the Prada but just not sure I wanted to spend that much. Ended up walking out of Nordstrom & into Michael Kors boutique. I couldn't get my eyes off the 'Hamilton'. I was shocked at the price... Picked up black w/gold hw & cement w/silver hw. I hope I didn't make a mistake getting MK instead of MJ or Prada; let alone (2) of the same bag. One of the MK gals showed me her 'Hamilton' in luggage and it looked like it is holding up pretty well. I hope the same goes for mine...and yours.
