I know a lot of designers doing collab this Lunar New Year and looking to get one that is not too tacky lol, I was born in a year of Tiger so thinking to get something in any of the collab that I could cherish forever as this year is special to me after all, thank you all!

Apologies if you already know this but since it is your year, you should wear something red everyday (can be clothes, jewelry, etc.), since one's zodiac year usually means bad luck for the person born in that year. The red item will help keep you safe and prevent bad luck this year. Most people tend to wear a red cord bracelet or red underwear (easy for everyday wear).

On a designer note, I feel that luxury brands don't do a great representation of the zodiac signs or symbolism that each zodiac animal represents. They are usually very tacky and gaudy IMO, or try to be symbolic, like Dior with the red/pink butterflies this year. But this symbolism is quite poor, since it does not really represent any of the symbolic meaning that a tiger has.
And, meaning no offense, but to be brutally honest: I find Fendi and Gucci's zodiac collections to be ugly and Burberry is not that much better. LV is cute and cartoony and Hermes is okay.

Short blurb on the meaning of the Tiger (by the way, this is general, don't take it too seriously):The zodiac sign Tiger is a symbol of strength, exorcising evils, and braveness.
And there's actually 5 elements for each zodiac animal: wood, fire, earth, water and metal.
For 2022, it is specifically the Water Tiger. Water Tiger of 2022 implies caution, growth, development, challenge, creation, and planning.

Personally I think you're better off buying something (designer or not), that has a symbolic meaning of the Tiger to you.

If you really want a luxury brand, maybe something small and easy for more daily use, like a key chain or a twilly/skinny scarf?

Thank you for your insight! I didn't know Louis and Hermes doing any Lunar collab as well, I received a mailing list from Louis Vuitton but it didn't strike me that it's a Lunar edition. And you're right everything seems so off and loud and will be out of season once CNY ends, I might go for a small wallet or twilly if there's anything I like ☺️

I'm not into superstitions but I do dress up my family in new clothes and have yusheng and angbao traditions lol, that's something new about the red thing-y, interesting facts that I should definitely look into!

I would suggest you to have something made custom instead. That way it would be personal and you could fully have them interpret the theme to the extent that you would so wish.

Contacting a smaller leather goods manufacturer that offers bespoke would be my suggestion (Duret, Peter Nitz). Graziat who manufacturers at the highest quality level and offers hand painting and other artistic options might be even better.

Hope you find something lovely :)

Another option would be to get a piece of jewelry with tigers eye as the main stone. Which could be a very subtle way of going about things.

Or carved jade with tiger design !

Just tossing out ideas

Lol. i am in the same boat and have been looking forward to my zodiac year. i really liked the LV twilly and ferragamo LNY Scarf. i was hoping Dior was going to come through and ended u0 getting something from their kid collection. Balenciaga and Fendi have some items too. otherwise, Kate spade/coach plus tory burch have some LNY collection items that may pique your interest.
