If you like studded/stone straps with a basic bottom bucket style, Tylie Malibu (now out of business), McFadin (Two Bar West), and Leatherock are reasonable choices that come to mind. Leatherock and McFadin are generally more western, so I'm not sure how you feel about that. They are also more expensive now than Tylie because Tylie is out of business (it seems to be "out of sight, out of mind"). There are some great Tylie deals on eBay now. Both brands also have other styles than hobos too, but I was thinking that if you purchase something like a Tylie bucket utility, shoulder bag, Zuma, or Shorty bag, for ex, most of the time the strap is connected via screw studs, so you can change the strap to a basic leather one if you get tired of the stones. This way you aren't permanently committing to a blingy bag! Most Leatherock bags are fixed straps, at least mine are, and not that that can't be dealt with at a leather shop, but a lot of the Tylie bags are not. Most Mcfadin bags you can also change the strap. When they were in business, Tylie did custom orders, and you could order the strap separately with all sorts of crystal and/or studded options and then choose the bag bottom in leather or suede. The only thing is while the bags are nice leather, most of these have little to no structure, so you have to like that aspect. Anyway, I never thought Tylie bags looked cheap, although IMO some of the later styles were not nearly as nice as the earlier ones, but of course that's always personal opinion! I still have quite a few of them and do occasionally get them out to carry, just like I do other bags! For basic studded bags, a lot of brands have these at all price points. I also have the Frye skull tote and LOVE it!
No matter what, I think you should always choose and carry what you are comfortable with and like. Nobody else's opinion matters but yours!

Fashion is about expressing your individuality with what you are comfortable with. Being comfortable is key. Sometimes I see something that I really like, but it doesn't work for me, and I don't think I can pull it off, so I move on. There are lots of different bags out there, and we're not all going to like the same thing. It's ok!
