I know it's a controversial brand because influencers get free bags and I've seen some people that got bags with quality issues...but I have a mini maestra and I love it and I want to talk to other people that LIKE the brand!

They're doing a promotion with Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy!!) right now and I'm eying a couple of those bags. My biggest hang-up is my bag is in the dolce leather (their natural grain leather) which is gorgeous and I'm worried I won't like the other leather types as much. The bag smells so good, it's three feet away from me right now and I can smell it from here. I bought a cheap strap from amazon to add some interest/make it more comfortable to wear on my shoulder.

I actually like some of their styles. I initially bought a Medium Maestra in the black Mimosa leather from a sales event and I liked the bag more than I thought I would be.
It is supersturdy, I like the lining and the compartment as well as the possibility to use it as a backpack without it looking too casual. Also their international shipping and the client service was perfect.

Later I also got the Aria, Alunna and Coda. Mostly during sales. I like the plain and classic easy to pair design.

They are not my most used bags, but I am happy to have them in my collection.

About gifting influencer: don‘t like that, too. But nowadays even the large luxury brands gift influencers, like Dior, LV etc. I find that very annoying and in later case even more not understandable as I don‘t understand why they need that. With a small brand I would actually understand the need way more.

I am not a fan of Senreve at all, I had a terrible experience with Senreve product - Aria bag. Even though i only used for less than 5 times in a year (still under warranty), the bottom front of bag is peeling off on both sides and the company ruled out that it is normal wear and tear and refuse to repair. It’s garbage products and i will never purchase it again from this brand and won’t recommend them at all. Please save your hard earned money.

:( I'm sorry to hear that. I have an aria and a mini maestra and both are in great shape after consistent use for a few months. I did have one repair concern for the maestra and they recommended I have it repaired locally and offered to reimburse me (it turned out not to be damage and just some leftover glue residue that I was able to peel off).

Not a fan too. Own a Senreve maestra in medium size ( vegan leather). There are some peeled dots on the bag front and sides, and breaking of glazing within a month. The design of it when used on shoulder/ crossbody was also aching and bad for my back, shoulders and neck after holding for 5 mins.

I have the maestra in full size mimosa leather. Love it. It is go to for air travel as it's so hardy going through all the security checks on its own (not put in a dustabag/outer bag) yet still presentable for corporate office. Not a scratch in sight after 5 years, though very minimal air travel last 2 years (only once). Also, great if I need to work from on the go (cafe, other people's offices), which includes a zoom call - the bag can fit everything I need including a laptop wood stand (so I am at eye level of the camera and not all neck lol), and no need for extra pouches as cables etc fit in the internal compartments.

For me, the maestra is an alternative to a backpack. Even the Tumi backpacks etc looks like a backpack. This doesn't but is one. I also have Philip Lim Pashli backpack but it's less roomy and has less compartments than the maestra. But similar leather look (thought the maestra is more structured). I'm not interested in any of their other bags, though. To me, Senreve = maestra.

I don't get the bashing of influencers. I never hear people bash brands for advertising their (own) products. A blogger is still more objective than the brand, beauty blogs esp are really helpful if you follow the right ones (similar skin tone, skin type, etc). If someone says they see it 'everywhere' person is likely spending too much time on social media, which means the algorithm leads you to other similar things.

I actually saw the maestra on a beauty blog, maybe 2017 (I got the back in 2018). It was the only place I saw it amongst blogs that I was regularly reading at that time. I am not on social media. I still read blogs and it's only on 2 blogs that I visit regularly (incl TPF).

@middaytune So the backpack strap in the mini maestra is removable? Interesting. Not so with the large/orginal size, at least the one I have. I was debating between midi and midi just before pandemic, but then world closed and I wasn't going anywhere anyways so didn't end up getting one. Now am traveling again, interested in another, likely the mini.

Screen Shot 2022-06-11 at 2.46.41 PM.pngYes, it is removable. Are you sure it's not for the bigger one? The one pictured on the website is removable too! But not sure if it used to be made differently.

I wanna add on that I've been using a mini maestra in dolce leather for almost a year now, and the leather is crazy strong. I thought I scratched it with a metal buckle one time, the scratch lasted for a day and eventually stretched itself back into place, I can't even find it anymore.
Perhaps the dolce leather is actually the one they should be promoting as the strong leather, instead of the stiff/brittle ones like the pebble.

I'm SO thrilled with my mini maestra in dolce! My only worry is if it is less water resistant as I now live somewhere where it rains all the time. The pebbled leather does seem immune to rain which is great.

I like the idea of a purse that can also be a backpack, but I don't personally like any of the leather options and I think the backpack straps look like they would dig into my shoulders.

I do wish more brands would make these sort of convertible bags that can be used as a backpack for airport transit, then as a purse once you get to your destination and unload the extra stuff. I've seen a number of bags with snap out inserts that could have easily been clutches if they had been made of leather instead of fabric. Wouldn't that be nice? Pack all your makeup into it and carry it to your destination, then unload that into the hotel bathroom and repurpose the bag as a clutch for an evening out in the city.

I agree, and I never wear my mini maestra as a backpack. I love it on its own merits as a purse! I will say the aria is very functionally convertible. I like your idea for a clutch! You should message them...

I just got the mini Maestra and I love it, but I'm wondering if the full size Maestra would be too big on me? I'm 5 ft 1 inch.
It's a pretty large bag. Not just the height and width but the depth also. Do you have a large laptop? I believe the midi can fit a 13" if you are willing to use the central compartment (not the sleeve). Check the info though, I'm not 100% sure.
