I’ve treated all my bags with vachetta and have had zero problems with it. I love it!Hi
i am very excited to receive my DA Noe BB tomorrw and very anxious if I should treat the vachetta.
I want to know if anyone has had any bad experience using Appleguard on their bags and want to advise against it.
Thanks for letting me know.I would encourage you to just let your bag patina naturally. If you truly struggle with this, set it outside for an hour or so and the sun will help it along.
If we needed to treat the leather, LV would recommend it, imo. I used Applegarde and it added a coating that felt grimy and permanently darkened the leather in a way that looked dirty. I followed the directions! The bag was NEW!
I then spent $500+ to replace the leather on the bag.
I left my other bag with vachetta alone and it looks perfect. So….don’t recommend.
Do they still have some patina. Or the vachetta remains same pale color. I was also thinking i let it develop some patina then consider treating so that it does not look completely pale.I’ve treated all my bags with vachetta and have had zero problems with it. I love it!
I get you. It truly needs a lot of courage to use some product on bags that LV itself does not recommendI have seen so many videos and people talked about using the spray (various brands) yet, I still don't dare to use it.
So you used it on bags immediately out of the box? Can you share any particular method on using this productI agree with OCMomof3 that it's not recommended by LV. But I also agree with the other comments that I've done it on all my vachetta and haven't had any issues. I might be in the minority since I like the really light vachetta. I think the apple garde may slow the process but I typically use it to prevent the water spots.
I have. I cover the canvas portion of the bag with paper towel, spray the vachetta from about 12 inches away, let it dry and repeat. I usually put on 3 coats. As another poster mentioned, it looks dark when it's wet but then it dries the same light color. Once it is dry, I usually clean any spray off the canvas and hardware with a baby wipe (water wipe, no alcohol, no perfume, etc). There are You Tube videos on how to apply it. One that comes to mind is by Shea Whitney. So you used it on bags immediately out of the box? Can you share any particular method on using this product
