Hi everyone!
I have been eyeing the Antigona for a while now and I love the classic style.
Now I have seen a beautiful one on a pre-loved website for a very good price in the color Kobalt blue. It is a gorgeous color, but I am afraid it will bore me after a while. Black is always a safe choice. It is beautiful though... the price is sooo good so I am thinking to myself, should I do it?

Now I am a bit older I want to make smart choices. Buy classic pieces and not regret it after a while. As an example 10 years ago I bought my first designer bag, a Miu Miu one, and was not educated in what is a classic piece and what is a trend bag and it was getting dusty in the closet so last year I sold it for 1/5 of the original price.

What would you advise me?

I'd say if you already have several black or neutral bags in your collection, it's OK to add a new one in a more fun, statement color. This Cobalt color would look lovely with jeans and light-colored clothing. The Antigona bag is a classic, so I think it would stand the test of time regardless of color - as long as you yourself like it and it goes with your wardrobe.

Hi!
TY for your reply, I do not own "a lot" of black and neutral coloured bags, I want to but then I get a fun colour. I do have a navy bag (almost black) I use as my main bag but its very unhandy so hence my search :) I am planning to get a LV neverful to make my diaperbag as I have my baby but thats a whole different kind of bag). The antigona mini would be a perfect size for my stuff. I just do not want to be blind since the bag is such a bargan.

I say get the cobalt bc the mini ant is the perfect size for a bit of color for it to stand out more. Givenchy will always have black, but if you wear mostly black or dark colors, this bag will just blend into your outfit. Blue is a very easy color to wear. Think about how denim can be paired with anything. Also, most F/W coats and jackets are dark colored, at least in NYC, so a mini cobalt blue bag is a perfect complement. Lastly, who says that after you get the cobalt, you can't find a black or more "classic" color ant as a second purchase? (As spoken by person who owns multiples of many G style bags). :P

If most of your clothes (and your winter coat) are dark and/or neutral, it is nice to have a pop of color. Every future bag will be available in black but not a gorgeous color like cobalt blue.

I say go for it. As others have said, the Antigona is a Givenchy classic. This color is beautiful and you’d be surprised how versatile this color blue is.

Lovely color! I too think it is preferred to have a pop of color in the mini antigona vs the small/med antigona so it isn't as overwhelming. I also like bright colored SLGs since I have neutral bags and gives a pop of color...and easier to find them in my bag!

It sounds like you're more tempted by the price but would prefer black. To make a smart choice, buy what you really want even if it's more expensive. If you spend $1000 on a blue bag and sell it (at a loss) in a couple of years, that's much higher cost per wear than a $1500 black bag that you'll use for 10 years.

It is true that the price is totally temping (540 euro!! new it's 1200 euro) But I love the look and style of the Antigona. I am not a black type of gal, I always go for a color that is why I have it in my head that because it's a designer bag that cost a lot of money it's better to get a black one (also if I get bored and want to sell it).
But... I think I just need to see the bag in person and try it on. maybe I fall in love with or maybe I see it just not sits right on my body.

I agree with you that seeing the bag in person is a great idea.
When I was shopping for my mini Antigona, I was set on black one in box leather as it seemed the most popular and classic one (at least on YT), but when I finally ordered it and it arrived it was just another black bag. I was disappointed - not in the bag, but in the total lack of excitement whilst looking at it, so it went back. I was pretty sure that that was that, but last November I saw a Caramel /Camel color mini Antigona in sugar leather ( also called Pony Brown on some websites) and that was that for me. I have a pretty extensive bag collection, but year later that bag still makes me excited whenever I use.
As for the blue - I find it very neutral (but then again - I live in jeans )
Good luck deciding !
