Hi! I am torn between the Givenchy Antigona Medium VS Givenchy Antigona Soft Medium. I would like to know which one you guys would suggest

I want this as a work bag, ideally for my 13" Macbook Pro with a laptop sleeve. I feel like the Soft version will be more versatile since I can unhook the sides for a business look, and hook it for a very casual look, while the hard version's structure might be a bit too formal and too heavy when strolling out and about.

This would be my first big handbag purchase but due to the pandemic, I can't go to see it in stores. Thanks in advance!

Have you seen the medium antigona in person and tried it on? I haven’t seen the soft antigona in person but the regular antigona in medium is very large and heavy. With a 13 inch Mac, you might find the weight to be bothersome.

Sharcee - I agree with your comments. I originally considered the medium antigona but it was too heavy and big for me even without a laptop inside. I would be concerned about how the laptop might damage the leather and structure in the soft antigona. I do love the look of the soft antigona though - lovely bag.

I haven't been able to find a designer bag to carry my 13 inch laptop that isn't too heavy. So far I have been using my Longchamp which has a crossbody strap to help distribute the weight. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate hearing from them since this is something on my "wish list" for when we can go back into the office.

I too have struggled with the antigona size dilemma.

I now have the antigona (classic structured style) in all 3 sizes.

My first was the medium - it is quite large and will fit laptop but agree it is heavy. But if you only go/to work with it would be fine, maybe now for if you have to carry for long periods. I think of the medium it as a fashionable-briefcase. TBH, I haven't used my medium too much because I now carry my ipad pro on the go instead of laptop.

My second was the small - much more manageable for carrying everyday essentials plus more like my ipad. The only downside to both medium and small is the strap is not long enough for me. I like to wear crossbody as an option..

so in come the mini size I recently added to my antigona collection. The strap is adjustable and long. The mini is deceivingly roomy and can carry all my everyday essentials and even my ipad (it pokes out the top but doable). IMO the mini is the most versatile of the bunch, can wear crossbody on shoulder, top handle only etc.. Great for all casual or dressy occasions.

As for the new soft antigona style, I debated but still prefer the structured antigona style - it's classic, iconic and timeless. For your first antigona I would recommend the classic style over the soft.

As for other large bags to carry laptops depending on your budget some good ones are Chanel Deauville or LV On the Go or LV neverfull.

Hope that helps!
