Also, when it's a high priced item to begin with - and then you see a reserve on it, it kind of makes you feel 'whats the point'.

Half the fun is bidding against others and winning -- it's not fun if you're bidding against yourself to try to meet a reserve ;)
 
that makes sense....it's sort of a "what's the point feeling" and you know you probably won't be getting a good deal. it's easier if you just see the amount expected upfront.

after everybody was going on about her high price, the seller made a post earlier that she was definitely not accepting anything less then $2700 or something because she was looking for a reason NOT to sell the bag since she loves it so much.
