Creating a thread dedicated to Goyard’s annual “millésime” marquage.

Each year since 2017, Goyard has offered a unique ribbon design, painted entirely by hand, and customizable with almost any combination of the Maison’s natural pigment-based colors. According to their official Instagram page, the millésime marquage is available at Goyard comptoirs worldwide, but only during the year of the design’s introduction. However, the Goyard website currently shows availability of two past millésime designs, along with the current year's offering.

2019 — Damona

"THE DAMONA MILLÉSIME MARQUAGE

Every year, Maison Goyard creates an original customization design as a tribute to its ancestral Art of Marquage.

Called "Millésime", it is exclusively presented during the year of its release.

For 2019, the Maison drew its inspiration from the Goyard family's past as river raftsmen. The Damona design was named after the goddess of springs and rivers in Gallic mythology, who was particularly revered in the Morvan, the original home of the Goyards.

An allegory evoking log drives along rivers taken by the ancestors of François Goyard, the founder of the Maison in 1853, the
"Damona" design highlights the versatility and authenticity of the Art of Marquage by Goyard, which is entirely hand-painted according to a savoir-faire unchanged since the 19th century.

The Damona Millésime Marquage can be ordered in a variety of colour combinations, and may be applied on all Goyard items."

2020 — Rouette

"Every year, Maison Goyard creates an original personalization design as a tribute to its ancestral Art of Marquage. Baptised "Millésime", it is proposed exclusively during the year of its conception.

For the 2020 edition, the Maison draws its sources and inspirations once again from the Goyard family history with the Rouette Design, whose name refers to a supple branch of hornbeam used by the Compagnons de Rivière, raftsmen of old whose trade consisted in transporting enormous amounts of firewood downriver from the forests of Morvan to Paris, which depended on them for its hearths and ovens.

The Rouette was used to tie together the huge wood rafts called "Trains", each of which could measure up to 75m by 4,5m and allowed the Compagnons de Rivière to arrive safely with their immense cargo to Paris after a grueling journey that lasted 11 days.

An allusion to the original occupation of François Goyard's ancestors before he founded the Maison in 1853, the Rouette underlines the versatility and the authenticity of the Art of Marquage by Goyard, entirely hand-painted in full respect of an ancestral savoir-faire that has remained unchanged since the 19th century.

The Rouette Millésime Marquage can be ordered in a large variety of colours and is suitable for most of Maison Goyard's creations."

"Every year, Maison Goyard imagines an original personalization design to illustrate its Art of Marquage.

Baptised "Millésime", it is proposed exclusively during the year of its conception.

For the 2021 edition, the Maison sought inspiration from one of the oldest ornamental motifs in the history of mankind: the Arabesque."

2022 — Mahal

"A Voyage to India with Goyard: the Mahal Millésime Marquage

Every year, Maison Goyard imagines an original personalization design to illustrate its emblematic Art du Marquage*. Baptised
"Millésime", it is proposed exclusively during the year of its conception.

For the 2022 edition, the Maison sought inspiration from the timeless fascination and vibrancy of India's decorative arts, and imagined "Mahal", an irresistible motif encapsulating the gracefulness of fluttering wings and the grandeur of the skyline of a legendary Palace built for Love.

2023 — Cœur Ruban

"THE HEART OF GOYARD

Ever since the foundation of the Maison in 1853, the Goyard workshops have perfected an unparalleled “Art du Marquage”, as this artisanal form of personalization is called in French.

Entirely hand-painted by skilled artists according to ancestral techniques unique to Goyard, the Art of Marquage has essentially remained the same since the 19th century.

A true labour of love, precision and patience, it is truly at the heart of Goyard’s heritage and identity.

To celebrate this much-beloved tradition, a symbol of its enduring commitment to genuine craftsmanship, Goyard imagined “Coeur” (heart in French), an irresistible duo of marquage motifs."

2024 — Onde

"INTRODUCING THE ONDE MILLÉSIME MARQUAGE

It's one our most treasured traditions: each year, our artisan painters imagine a new personalisation motif celebrating the Art of Marquage, one of the fundamentals of our Maison's identity.

Called "Millésime", it explores the endless possibilities offered by this ancestral hand-painted savoir-faire.

For 2024, a year placed under the theme of the ocean, the "Onde" (French for "wave") marquage is tipped to wash over bags and luggage, like an invitation to sail away in search of heavenly shores."
