Hi! I’m new here and looking for info and advice about a possible anniversary ring and/or a reset for my wedding set.

This year is my 20th anniversary and 50th birthday, and I want something new. I thought I wanted to add an eternity or anniversary band to my set, but I am also open to a reset.

my current set is a traditional trinity setting, in platinum. Stones are asscher cut, and I think it’s about 1.3 ct total weight. I still love my setting, but I have relatively small hands and I’m not sure I can get another ring onto my hand and still feel comfortable. I’m also pretty hands-on and active, which makes me kind of hard on things - I can’t wear delicate chain bracelets, for example, because I break them. every single time. Because of this, I think I would be better with a partial eternity ring, and not the full one.

When I was looking at bands, I noticed that a lot of the setting today are more delicate than mine and I’ve been wondering if a reset of my e-ring into a narrower band, maybe pave, would be pretty. But I still really like the look and feel of my current set, so this may be an option for later. Maybe my 30th/60th?

anyway, the rings I’ve been considering to go with are:

It’s a small row of stones, and I don’t think it would overwhelm my hand. I also like the look of the embrace setting, but it’s not a lot of stone for the $$$.

For the Soleste band, I would probably do the full eternity style - the stones seem pretty well protected this setting.

This is the band I always thought I wanted with my set. It’s pretty and the stones match, but I’m now wondering it the channel setting is too much metal? Or if it’s a good way to protect the stones. This is also really hard to find because Tiffany doesn’t make it anymore and I would have to wait or resize.

and:

this is about the same width as my current bands. I think it’s lovely, but I’m not sure if my hand can take 2.8mm more ring.

what would you do? Is there another style I should consider?

The closest Tiffany store is 2.5 hours away so I can go and try the first two rings, but it will take a bit of work to get there. I can also probably try one of their channel-set bands, just not the asschers.

any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Happy Anniversary and Birthday!!! I think you should leave your e-ring as is. There’s something special about keeping your original ring especially since you mentioned how much you still love the setting.
Are you planning on wearing your wedding band, your e-ring and the new anniversary band stacked on top of each other? Another option is to wear your anniversary band on your other hand.
It looks like your e-ring is more of a ‘square setting so If You are planning to wear together, I would go with a matching shape. The link for option 3 doesn’t work - can you repost?
Option 4 works well as it compliments your e-ring.
I like option 2 but only if worn separately on your other hand. Good Luck with whatever you decide.

I like your e-ring exactly as it is.
I also like the asscher cut band (the last option 4). It complements the lovely stones in your e-ring.
I also like the idea of a channel set if it also had the same or very similar cut stones (vertical baguettes for example).
The first two options would be great as a RHR but of course sometimes when you try things on in real life something different than you planned jumps out at you.
Also, I would recommend you try on a couple partial-eternity bands first to determine if it bugs you when they twist. It bothers me but others it’s not a biggie.
Please let us know if you get a chance to try on at Tiffany’s.
And happy birthday/anniversary!!!

I love Asscher engagement rings! Your ring is very pretty. There are so many options!

But you don’t like dainty jewelry so I won’t say turn your center diamond into a pendant and side stones into studs. You can keep your original set and get a new ring completely. Switch things up. Get an anniversary right hand ring? Unless you want a bigger center stone?

I’ve had great luck with Blue Nile and especially WhiteFlash over the years. Have you considered any of those sites? Plus they have a generous return policy. Im not personally familiar with Brian Gavin and David Klass Jewelry, but they are also popular vendors online.

Blue Nile was even having an amazing sale just before Christmas. Everything was 50% off! Man I wish my funds allowed! The sale was THAT good. So many gorgeous pieces like Asscher eternity bands etc. I love the eternity pic you posted last! So nice. When shopping online just make sure it has a good return policy in case you change your mind.

Right now I’m LOVING OEC RBs! They tend to be warmer stones tho. Not sure if you are into that.
