Hi ladies!

I do not often post in the jewelry box, but read often, and you all seem so sweet and knowledgeable!

I am looking for a platinum channel set princess cut anniversary band. Not too wide, as I want to comfortably stack it with my wedding and engagement ring.

I have two in mind so far, but I wanted to get your input and advice on these vendors, or any others you might recommend.

Honestly, I was completely sold on this band or the one just slightly thinner, and after all the rave reviews I have seen on this vendor here and on my little venture over onto pricescope I was going to purchase it. I was considering having then do it 75% around custom for me, and after months of trying to email and call and getting no real replies, I am a little soured to be honest - especially since their prices have gone up significantly in the last few months. If I had gotten a response back when I first inquired in the spring, the same band would have been a few hundred dollars cheaper. As much as I like the ring, I am hesitatnt to give them my business at this point.

Then today I stumbled upon this ring on this site. To be honest I prefer the rounded edges of the first ring over this one, but it is also very beautiful and a better price, and I would not be rewarding bad CS by giving them a purchase anyway.

Any experiences with this vendor?

Opinions? Advice?

Those are both very pretty rings that would look beautiful with your set! I'd really make sure you get what you want, though. Don't settle for the second ring because the first company was difficult to deal with. There's always someone else who could make a similar ring for you.

Have you checked with any local jewelers? They might be a good place to start. Also, I'm occasionally on www.diamondring.com and have found their forums helpful in the past. I've actually had a necklace made for me by one of the network jewelers there and I absolutely love it. The people on there might be able to help you find another reputable site to buy from or suggest similar styles.

Unfortunately, I have no experience with either website you mentioned, so I'm afraid I can't help you there.

Best of luck to you! Hope you find what you're looking for. :smile1:

Beautiful set!

I have bought several items from SignedPieces/Facets, including my Raphael Wedding band. I LOOOOVE them all and every experience has been fantastic and Ill continue to be a customer of theirs. A channel set would be PERFECt with your stack.

I turned to them after having a HORRIBLE experience with a prized PS vendor. It was a NIGHTMARE and ruined the sentiment behind a wedding ring.

I know ERD makes great engagement rings but I haven't seen much in the way of eternity/wedding bands of that nature from them.

Thanks ladies!

Ame, I remembered your thread, and that is why I was hesitant about going with ERD even thought the pricescope reviews seem positive. That, and all their reviews seem to be for solitaire type settings rather than eternity bands.

I think I will probably wind up going for the first one even though I have had communication issues so far. The more I look the more I really do think I like that one the best, and for that amount of money I better be getting what I really want, KWIM? I think partially I am irked that their prices went up while I was trying to get in contact with them. Not their fault on the one hand, since platinum and gold have gotten sooo pricey lately, but also I did request a quote well before their prices went up...

PurpleRose, I am hesitant to go the local custom route simply because I am not super savvy when it comes to diamonds. :shame: I mean, I know basic info from shopping a little for engagement rings, but as far as whether I was getting what I paid for in a ring like this - it just seems like a lot of work to get it custom made, then get it appraised independently, etc. Hmmm looking over this it makes me sound a little lazy, but that isn't it. I am just hesitant in areas outside of my expertise, and I don't have anyone local that I can get recommendations from that I can trust.

Oh, I can definitely understand that! You might be able to get suggestions for local vendors from the diamondring forums. I'm in GA, so I'm afraid I don't know anyone in CA that could do it for you.

If you decide to go with the first one, please protect yourself and use a CC, just in case things don't go well. It's a lovely ring, though, and I hope it works out for you!
