In your opinion, can short women pull off ankle boots and booties?

ETA: The title was supposed to be ankle BOOTS and booties

I think it depends on the style of boot and how they are worn. Ankle boots with skinnies are fine. Dark ankle boots with black tights are generally also fine for shorter women (at least it works for me). And it depends on a person's proportions, too. There are plenty of shorter women with proportionally long legs, which makes all the styles that aren't supposed to work for short women look great on them. But my legs are short, and generally only black ankle boots with black tights works for me.

Depends on the shape/size of your legs IMO. If you're shorter with wide hips/thicker legs, or proportionally your legs are shorter than your torso, then it makes you look shorter. However, if your legs are skinny/slim/toned/etc, then they look fine! I'm 5'5 and I can baaarely pull off booties with skinny jeans or tights. I have a heavier lower body (wide-ish hips and thicker legs) :crybaby: and I don't think booties would look good if I were shorter.

Also, a good tip that I received! If your legs are shorter or thicker, then look for booties that cut UNDER your ankle, like this (on Kiera):

if they cut across like this:

they tend to make your legs look shorter and thicker. I only buy booties that cut under my ankle and so far so good.

Definitely! I'm a shortie and I love my ankle boots. I think the best way for vertically challenged girls is to wear their boots either with tights/skinnies/leggings etc. Black booties with black opaques not only look incredible but also have a lengthening effect. Alternatively if one keeps the silhouette very slim and sleek then it can nullify that cut-off look for short women. I avoid having a bulky top-half if I'm wearing booties etc. as it brings your top half down and thus makes you look shorter. I refuse to let my height dictate what I can and can't wear! :P

I wear booties with tights and a short dress - I agree with trying to find a pair that fits under the ankle. The ankle boot look isn't my favorite on me, but I think other ladies can rock it well.
