I have always loved the Legacy Stripe pattern and I have several bags and accessories that include the legacy stripes. Last night my husband and I were dressing for a night out and my jewelry selection included a colorful, multi-stone ring that he had recently given to me as an anniversary gift.

When it came time to pick a bag I selected the Madison Legacy Stripe Flap bag 10465 that I have posted on TPF before because it is one of my favorite "special occasion" bags. That's when it suddenly dawned on me that my bag really compliments my new ring! They aren't "matchy" but they certainly go well together IMO. And since I was dressed mostly in black I think that the colored accessories were a good choice.

Here a few pics of my bag with my new ring which is set in gold with topaz, pink tourmaline, amethyst, peridot, blue topaz, and diamonds. I love it and now I love my little bag even more when I see it with my ring!

Beautiful bag and ring! You are so right -- same colors on both (what are the chances of that? :) ). I am sure they looked great with your outfit last night. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, we did have a lovely night out last night and happily the snow didn't start falling until this morning!

I always loved Legacy stripes, so obviously adore that ring! And your flap bag is still in such great shape after all of these years! I always steered clear of the satin Legacy stripe items (the wristlets, bags, card cases) because I just knew I'd snag them or get them dirty.... but yours looks fantastic :)

Thank you! I always thought that sateen and legacy stripes were delicate but I have learned that they are much tougher than they look. I have now rehabbed a couple of legacy items and the striped sateen material held up very well and cleaned up nicely.

The 65th Anniversary Legacy line was a great line; it would probably be too expensive to make bags with such quality materials and fine detailing now. Look at how cheap the linings have gotten in many of the more recent bags! I have a few small 65th Anniversary Legacy pieces and my favorite is the black Bridgette, but they don't make them like that anymore!
