Does anyone collect amber?

I have been collecting for a while, and have a few pic's to share. Would love to see yours!

I love amber. It's so amazing and different because it's fossilized tree sap. As a little kid, I used to go to the beach with my grandma in Poland and sift through sand for amber. I have found some here and there. It's a huge business up on the northern coast. It's definitely an undervalued "stone" in my book.

Do you have any treasures from those days with grandma, to share with us?:smile1: I love the warmth of amber! I could look at it for hours!

I have a couple skeins of amber beads I want to string at some point. (To look like a standard pearl necklace). Haven't gotten around to it yet, but I do like the look, depending on how it's set and done. :smile1:

What beautiful jewelry.
I love amber. I have a few pieces. I have a pair of earrings (broken, I need to get them fixed) and a necklace of Baltic amber from Poland which is pretty but I think not the best quality as its not beads but chips.
I used to have a bracelet but gave it to a friend because she liked it so much.
I'm a little afraid of buying though since its one of those things, like jade that are so easily faked nowadays and I'm not sure how to tell the good quality.

I have several amber pieces. One is a large pendant on a thick silver collar. I love it. I also have a pendant that I wear on a very long silver chain. DH bought me earrings to go with it, but the wires are too thick for my ears, so I never wear them. In the winter, I wear a lot of dark brown clothing, and the amber is striking with it.
