Already have black mini top handle. Do I need a regular black mini rectangular too?

Hello I asked this question in the rectangular mini thread but not sure how active that still is so starting a new thread.

Opinions welcome - do you think having both the black mini top handle AND the regular mini rectangular is redundant?

The only difference between them being (other than the top handle) that the top handle is classic gold hardware and the regular mini is champagne gold. I already have the top handle and wondering whether to get the regular too. I do prefer champagne hardware as my jewellery is white gold and I know the regular black mini is hard to get.

I have a few other minis too including neutrals (navy and beige) and brights (mint green, raspberry pink) which are a mix of both top handle and not. I like and use both types

The only reason I’m deliberating - other than them being so similar- is that I always planned to get a small size classic flap in black one day. Always thought in silver hardware since I have the gold top handle but recently leaning more towards gold as I like to dress quite formally and dressy. But surely having THREE black Chanel bags (mini top handle, mini rectangle and small classic) would be too much…

Anyway any thoughts appreciated, Tia

What color hardware is on the other (non-black) minis? If you already have a mix of the different hardware colors, and different sizes, having 3 black ones might cause you to use the non-black ones less often.

I hear you on liking the champagne gold better than the regular gold, but since it's just hardware on a bag, I would think that adding a silver hardware classic flap would give you versatility without the redundancy of having 2 different types of gold hardware.

Yes adding the classic flap would address the hardware issue! I think currently I am leaning towards thinking I don’t need the black top handle so to get the regular mini and sell the top handle..

Thank you! I actually purchased the black regular mini. Still within its return window but I think I am going to sell the top handle and if it doesn’t sell I’ll just keep both because one is classic gold and one is champagne gold which looks like silver

I would probably keep both too, they are lovely bags and classics ,glad you got the regular mini !
