I just purchased Lv x takashi murakami Alma bb I absolutely adore it it’s so so stunning but I’m going through something which is bothering me a lot the strap’s hook is small it is scratching the gold hardware. My SA said this is how it is. You just need to hook it from the handle’s top but it’s still scratching it as it’s smaller than the handle. Can someone please help me out? My pochette metis’ strap fits perfectly though.

I’m so sorry. How embarrassing for LV. This kind of design flaw for an elementary function is ridiculous and unacceptable. I’m especially sorry about the reply you received. How dismissive and entitled their attitude is. I’m happy for you that you got such a beautiful bag but this lack of customer service is still unacceptable.

thank you so much you’re so kind. Exactly they should replace the strap because it’s flawed. And what I don’t understand is why would they make the clasp so small that it doesn’t go through the hardware handle. Pochette metis’ clasp is big enough to go through easily without scratching it so why not make it like that why make it so small and difficult.

They made the ring thicker (the new design for most stuff, which is actually the reviving for 00's hardware design), but the clasp stayed the same they used for Alma BBs for the past decade. They are barely compatible.
Exactly it’s a major design flaw. If you’ll make the ring/handle thicker how in the world this small clasp is going to fit?? It’s seriously ridiculous. Why didn’t they consider this I don’t understand

I’m so sorry! I totally know what you mean and have not bought certain bags bc of this flaw. Some items from the denim collection last year did this too.

I hate it so much when the response to something like this is ā€œthis is just how it isā€! I have no patience when someone won’t even at least try to help address or fix a problem. šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

At the very least she should document it and share the info with corporate. When they get multiple complaints of the same thing and it becomes a ā€œknown problemā€ is when they take action. But if no one even documents it then the info will never make it to the right people that can actually make the design change or call for replacement straps to be given out to clients that have the issue.

Can you escalate it with your store? Or are you not wanting to deal with all that? Which is understandable especially after how exhausting it’s been shopping this collection.

Thank you so much for understanding. You are absolutely right if complains are documented probably they’ll take an action but oh well! I tried my best to bring this issue to light but the SA kept insisting to just clasp it from the top of the handle she made it look as if I don’t know how to do it. I was going in circles and she just didn’t want to acknowledge the real issue so I gave up and posted here. šŸ˜”

Colour me shocked in neon (Multicolor). This is so 'cheap' of LV not to consider and triple-check compatibility of hw.

And LV (and other 'luxury' houses) wonder why people think quality and design considerations are no longer aligned to the 'luxury' price point.
LV turns out products so fast, I cannot even keep up. The Murakami just started and now Pharrell is doing men's collection. Yesterday when I was at my local boutique, there were hardly any Murakami items, just new empreinte bags everywhere in pink, light beige and grey. It's like this collaboration never happened. Leftover were one MC Dauphine, one monogram/ flowers, and one MC PA (which I got).

So strange. And LV should recall and offer customers proper straps. These items are too overpriced.

How fast they sell has no bearing on design consideration nor supply chain, that's after production. LV may be in a hurry because of LVMH's 'slow rate of growth concerns' (LV and Dior make up 50% of all LVMH revenue). They knew TM was an easy anniversary hit and the collab will market LV to a wider audience via SM/FOMO making it look like LV is on top again, but LV is supposed to be a luxury brand, not fast fashion.

These bags are not made to order. There were always going to be the same number made (limited). Quality control, supply chain or poor design, take your pick. Nothing to do with the artwork of TK or the fever to acquire.
