i am wondering if the leather on my bag is normal wear and tear at the bottom? I do have some scratches but this looks like the leather is peeling or fading ( not sure). I will post photos below and would appreciate any thoughts on if you think this is normal.

That's normal, it's rubbed against something. It's easy to do on the Alma because the leather is very stiff there.

Agree, looks like normal wear from bumping or rubbing up against an abrasive surface.
Yep. Happened to my Alma BB in DE too. I didn’t realize it was happening, but it seems like it crept in over time.
I have not used it in a while and got it out yesterday and saw it. I really have no clue what it could have rubbed against!
It happened on my denim alma too, it's annoying but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It may have gotten scuffed from walking to close to a wall - that happened to my bag too [emoji53]
