How about Dave Matthews Band "Steady as We Go"?

I'll walk halfway around the world
Just to sit down by your side
And I would do most anything, girl
To be the apple of your eye
Well troubles, they may come and go
But good times, they're the gold
And if the road gets rocky, girl
Just steady as we go

Any place you wanna go
Know I'll be next to you
If it's treasure, baby, you're looking for
I'll search the whole world through
I know troubles, they may come and go
But good times, they're the gold
So if the road gets rocky, girl
Just steady as we go

When the storm comes down you shelter me
When I don't say a word and you know exactly what i mean
In the darkest times, oh, you shine on me
You set me free and keep me steady as we go

So if your heart wrings dry, my love
I will fill your cup
And if your load gets heavy, girl
I will lift you up
Well troubles, they may come and go
But good times be the gold
So if the road gets rocky, girl
Just steady as we go

I really thought the ultimate wedding song is "from this moment on" by shania twain.. or 2 become 1 by the spice girls (the spanish version).. it just sounds sexier in spanish hahaha.. well, im pretty sure im gonna play the number by shania if i do get marry one day..

Um you might want to stay away from "I Will Always Love You."

And no offense, frozen, but I don't think "We Belong Together" is a good idea, either.

They're both about couples who broke up.

I Will Always Love You: "If I should stay, I would only be in your way."
We Belong Together: "When you left I lost a part of me."

Don't get me wrong, We Belong Together is a sweet song, but doesn't seem too wedding-y to me.

When my cousin got married, their song was "Hooked On A Feeling." (The original one by Blue Swede. The one with the ooga chackas. The ooga chackas are key.)

When I get married, I want Barry White's You Are My First, My Last, My Everything to be my first dance.

At Last by Etta James is pretty.

Breathe by Faith Hill is another romantic song.

No problem. This is We Belong Together:

(Ooh, ooh, sweet love, yeah)

I didn't mean it
When I said I didn't love you, so
I should have held on tight
I never shoulda let you go
I didn't know nothing
I was stupid, I was foolish
I was lying to myself
I could not fathom that I would ever
Be without your love
Never imagined I'd be
Sitting here beside myself
Cause I didn't know you
Cause I didn't know me
But I thought I knew everything
I never felt

The feeling that I'm feeling
Now that I don't hear your voice
Or have your touch and kiss your lips
Cause I don't have a choice
Oh, what I wouldn't give
To have you lying by my side
Right here, cause baby
(We belong together)

[chorus]
When you left I lost a part of me
It's still so hard to believe
Come back baby, please
Cause we belong together

Who else am I gon' lean on
When times get rough
Who's gonna talk to me on the phone
Till the sun comes up
Who's gonna take your place
There ain't nobody better
Oh, baby baby, we belong together

I can't sleep at night
When you are on my mind
Bobby Womack's on the radio
Saying to me
"If you think you're lonely now"
Wait a minute
This is too deep (too deep)
I gotta change the station
So I turn the dial
Trying to catch a break
And then I hear Babyface
I only think of you
And it's breaking my heart
I'm trying to keep it together
But I'm falling apart

I'm feeling all out of my element
I'm throwing things, crying
Trying to figure out
Where the hell I went wrong
The pain reflected in this song
It ain't even half of what
I'm feeling inside
I need you
Need you back in my life, baby

[chorus]
When you left I lost a part of me
It's still so hard to believe
Come back baby, please
Cause we belong together

Who else am I gon' lean on
When times get rough
Who's gonna talk to me on the phone
Till the sun comes up
Who's gonna take your place
There ain't nobody better
Oh, baby baby, we belong together, baby

[chorus]
When you left I lost a part of me
It's still so hard to believe
Come back baby, please
Cause we belong together

Who am I gonna lean on
When times get rough
Who's gonna talk to me
Till the sun comes up
Who's gonna take your place
There ain't nobody better
Oh baby, baby
We belong together

Um. for the bride's dance with her father, stay away from Dance With My Father by Luther Vandross.

(The lyrics are about his father recently passing away.)

But if you want to include Mariah Carey and Luther Vandross songs, you could use:

Thank God I Found You by Mariah Carey and 98 Degrees
Here And Now by Luther Vandross

For my wedding, I comprised the music for my ceremony and reception.
I coordinated it down to the note and had the DJ also burn CD's as Wedding Favors for the guests. Sorta a "Soundtrack" to our wedding. All the guests loved the idea.

Seeing that my husband is half Italian, as guests arrived and were being seated, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin played Italian Love Songs

The ceremony consisted of the following
Going to the Chapel-The Dixie Cups
Never My Love- The Association
And I love Her- The Beatles
At Last- Etta James
a snippet of a lovely tune off a "victoria secret's" cd/ forgot the name.
Tradional Wedding march

As we were introduced as Mr. and Mrs.- Your'e my Best Friend-Queen played

During Dinner and Reception a variety of Lounge, Big Band, Swing, Mambo, Disco, Classic country, and well known pop hits played.
A good suggestion is to play music that people of all ages are familiar with and can enjoy.
Ex. Cheesy classics are great and always a hit at weddings!

Oh, and believe it or not "Lowrider Oldies" make terrific wedding music!

"When we get Married"- The Dream Lovers - was our first dance and guests were actually crying.

Best of luck and have fun with it.:jammin:
