Sadly on July 10th, I’ll be wearing my Alexander McQueen jacket as a suit to the funeral of a dear lady who has passed away just short of 101, who I’ve known for 6 years.

I’ll try to remember to post pictures on the day.

I’m also looking at new rtw atm for happier occasions later in the month..

Hello
Can anyone help me date this bag? I know it’s very vintage but I’ve forgotten. It’s equestrian style with the bit and shaping. The two saddle sides expand out.
Thank you!

Howdy MsCrow! Hope all is well and apologies for the late response. A fellow TPFer informed that it is A/W 2008. Hope this helps. By the way..... GORGEOUS BAG!!!

Last night I watched the McQueen Spring Summer 2025 show by Sean McGirr.

I absolutely Loved the sharp black tailoring -I hope I get to buy a suit from that collection.
I wasn’t keen on Sarah Burton tbh, I much prefer Sean, I know that’s probably not the popular concensus but I thought it was a really strong collection, I’d have worn All of the black suits, but my lifestyle doesn’t call for millions of black suits anymore.

One I could find room for.

Fantastic collection!

How heavy is this? I don’t own a leather hat but I would assume it would be a lot heavier than the standard rabbit / beaver felt ones. Looks wise it is very classic but with a fun twist!
I'm not sure about the weight. That is a good question. I don't own a hat like this at all, but I would love this one. I wanna try it out first, but I live 6 hours away from he nearest McQueen. lol I hate to purchase and return. such a hassle. I'm torn.

I don't own any McQueen bags, but I did purchase a McQueen coat at Saks Fifth Avenue and was told by the Alexander McQueen boutique and online client services that the Alexander McQueen boutique would not be able to do any alterations or repairs unless the piece was purchased directly from their boutique or their online website. It was quite disappointing.

Thanks RyukkuX for your feedback! Yes I guess it is as expected and it is indeed disappointing. I can only hope their products are hardy enough to withstand daily life as I'm planning to use my bag for work.

To follow up on the situation, I emailed Matches Fashion twice about the aftersale service (wasn't sure if they got my question as customer service responses are slow) and I got contradictory replies - the first rep said they would contact the brand to only repair/refund manufacturing defects. The second said they do repairs through the brand and I would have to send photos over for their specialist team and the brand to inspect decide what services they would recommend. The whole process can take up to 6 weeks.

Adding to the fact that I haven't seen many reviews of the quality and hardiness of McQueen's bags, I do hope mine lasts for a long time to come.
I recently contacted the McQueen NYC aftersales customer services online re: a zipper pull fix on a shearling coat. I had to submit photos of the item as well as the purchase information proofs (screenshots of receipts from ebay). It was a pretty high cost item, so perhaps they made an exception or have since changed the policy?? I have been sent a label to send it to them in NJ for another round of evaluation, and then it will be sent to Italy to be repaired. Although, I am nervous about letting it go through so many shipping hoops. Anybody else have any updates/experiences? Thank you! :flowers:
