I would love to buy a Burberry coat but it's so pricy I'd like to be able to use it as much as I can. Which Burberry coats do you think can be used throughout the four seasons? I love the look of the trench coat but don't like the quilted jackets so much. Any suggestions?

the trench coat is the most versatile as you can use it during spring, fall, and winter and maybe Summer but that depends on the weather and which part of the world you live in. Trench is not too thick that you can only use it for winter but its wearable for many seasons.:smile1:

I was going to suggest the light weight quilted jackets, but since you stated you don't care for them...looks like the trench coat wins. If you live where it gets really cold I suppose you could put layers under it for extra warmth (sweaters, etc.), as long as it didn't make the coat too tight.

It depends on how much the temperature changes where you live, I suppose. If you get really cold winters, I don't think a trench is going to cut it - as soon as it snows it'll be too cold, even if you wear warm sweaters and lining. A wool coat might then be the better alternative, but this you can't wear in late spring/summer.
I'd still suggest the trench, as it's the coat which will work for most seasons - I doubt there is a coat out of any material which you can wear all year round. But again, it depends on where you live!

You will get the most wear out of a quilted jacket. It is lightweight, casual and can be worn during the spring, summer, fall and early winter because you can either layer or not. There are a lot of quilted jacket designs, maybe you find one that you like.

Maybe a short trench jacket, instead of a trench coat. http://ca.burberry.com/store/womens...4501-oversize-collar-cotton-gabardine-jacket/

There are a lot of other casual jackets on their website that you could wear throughout the year.

When I lived in the NE I could get by the winters in a trench with a lining and layers underneath...it's all a matter of how well a person tolerates the cold!

like others have said, it depends on where you live. I wanted to get the most out of mine as well, so when I purchased a trench, I also got a liner. they make really nice wool/cashmere liners that their tailors will attach via buttons - but then again I live in the Midwest and need something that is suitable for spring/fall. won't quite cut it for winter!
