Alhambra YG ring - diamond or guilloche?

Looking to buy an Alhambra ring in YG for my mom, and she’s torn between the guilloche and the diamond. Any sense of which is trendier these days? Thanks!

Hello I have the paved diamond one and wear it every day. No worry to have wear and tear with this one - as guilloché also shines a lot but will scratch (as a ring even more surely). Some people don’t like to see the gold between the diamonds so prefer WG in which you can almost not see the gold … but I personally like the design in RG or YG
Did she try them ? Sure it would help her to decide … good choice. So nice of you to buy her a jewelry piece

I agree with @spaul , I would not want guilloche for a ring. It scratches easily and the scratches cannot be polished.

Not about trends, but about durability--I'd recommend pave. It will look way nicer for way longer! Guilloche scratches more easily and cannot be polished to correct this.

Thanks for the replies! Sounds like folks have durability concerns about the guilloche compared to the diamond. Does anyone have personal experience with scratches on the guilloche?

No brainer. Diamonds. Especially on the hand. Guilloche is gonna get beat to h*** on the hand, if she intends to wear it regularly. Diamonds are a wee bit more durable.
