I’m debating between the RG/pink MoP Alhambra watch and RG Sweet Perlee clover bracelet. I’ve been looking for a bracelet / cuff and did not intend to try this watch, but my SA showed it to me as “primarily a bracelet” (I would agree lol).

I was just on the cusp of pulling the trigger on the sweet Perlee when I tried the watch. And when I tried both side by side it was crazy How light and insubstantial the sweet clover bracelet felt compared to the watch !

Now I haven’t seen much information on the watch…and with the MoP “links” question how useable/durable it will be, even though I do *not* plan to wear it every day and am typically careful with jewelry. I did like the feminine yet subdued look of the watch, and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it.

Thoughts? Advice? Anyone own either piece? Some pictures below. Would greatly appreciate your input :)

For fun, comparing to the full clover.

Here are some good threads to start with. There are more, but these two are very helpful.

I have the Perlee clover and was considering the watch. The Perlee clover is extremely comfortable for me to wear 24/7 and is basically impervious to wear and tear. The watch is very unique, but in the end I decided to wait for an option to be created that will withstand wear better without needing to baby it at all.

This is super helpful, thank you! I’m so glad to hear that you’re enjoying the clover. And yeah, it’s not that I can’t baby the watch I just don’t want to lol

Really appreciate you weighing in!

You are welcome! If you intend to wear the watch just while going out each day, I think it will be fine. It is more of a "wearing out" piece anyway, since it is not a utilitarian watch that you would be wearing all day. The Perlee clover is easily worn all day and does not need to be taken off for daily "potentially dangerous to jewelry" activities, such as hand washing/hand sanitizer, showering, cooking (this is the biggest one for me, because I like to cook and the oil in the pan tends to aerosolize slightly and deposit on your wrist area while cooking), exercise, dropping things in a tight space and needing to reach for them (e.g. hand between the seat of the car and the center console, or dropping anything on a hard surface at home where it tends to roll under furniture and needs to be reached for), exercise, warm weather "glowing", contact with hair products or perfume. However, if you intend to wear the watch on your non-dominant hand and do not want to wear it while relaxing at home, many of these concerns can be mitigated.

I think if you made a poll, you would elicit more responses. For me, I would choose the watch. It’s a more substantial and special piece. Also, the thin clover bangle is poorly proportioned to me. It doesn’t look that “right.”

In terms of wearability, the bangle would probably get better cost per wear. But from a design standpoint, I don’t like it as much. If it were between the watch and regular clover, though, I would probably say to get the clover bangle.

Honestly the watch blends into your skin tone a bit; I think the full size clover looks best on you. The sweet seems a bit underwhelming on you.
Thanks for your thoughts! I feel like the sweet isn’t really designed to stand by itself and I agree that it should be paired with other bracelets to get the most out of it. TBH I do love the full clover it’s just a matter of saving for it!

What’s interesting to me is that the sweet and the watch are priced exactly the same but I would say that the watch is the more substantial and we’ll proportioned piece

Oh my gosh, you are echoed my thoughts exactly on the appeal of the watch vs the sweet.

Honestly what I’m concluding is that there are better pieces for me personally. Like the full clover or if they ever made a watch in onyx (or dare I dream, lapis):nuts:

I just realized that I misread the options! I would choose the watch also over the sweet clover bracelet, because it is a more interesting piece of jewelry and can stand on its own. I would choose the regular Perlee clover bangle over the watch because it is more versatile and easier to get max CPW between the two.

There are other watch options :) I personally love the watch, but though the PMOP RG guilloche is by far the most popular combo, I would choose a different one. However, I have not purchased the watch yet because I am waiting for a future hypothetical stone combo.

I am very glad to help! I am always on the alert for a new watch combo, I will update if I cave on any of the current offerings, or - hopefully - if a new stone combo comes around. They seem to be pushing the watches a lot lately, and there is a lot of attention on the line with the RG guilloche/PMOP and the new RG guilloche/Carnelian offerings in particular, so I do have hope that there will be a great new combo in the next year or two.

I would absolutely choose the watch! I agree with the above comments that it does seem more substantial and I think it is such a unique piece that you can wear to events, you can wear out and you can even wear everyday if you feel like it. I am a sucker for pink however and for rose gold so I will admit my bias upfront though :)

Hello, I’m so glad I found your post.
I also love the sweet Alhambra watch either in gold or the rose gold. I think it looks so nice and timeless. Did you buy your one I can’t decide, I don’t have any Alhambra bracelets, so I was just thinking about getting this watch as it looks very unique 😀

I have that exact watch and still love it when I wear it, always get compliments on it. I’ve never seen anyone else with it so agree it is unique. Did you decide to get it?
