Hopefully on of you girls can clear this up for me, I won an auction, the seller has only been registered for 10 or 11 days, first sale for him. The aucton says he will take payment through money order, credit card, check. I picked credit card, he mailed saying to pay through alertpay.com I asked for paypal, he says he doesn't use paypal.
I've read that alertpay isn't allowed on ebay, but i'm still confused about this.
Do you think if I pay with my credit card through alertpay I'll be protected if the seller doesn't send the item?

I've never heard of alertpay.

If it's not an allowed eBay payment method then you can refuse to pay this way as they are in violation of eBay rules.

ya, I was a little cautious of the auction, I figured if somethings not allowed on email I can get out of the sale without hurt to my feedback.

He could still neg you! But you can contact eBay and say the seller is requesting payment via an unsafe method and see what they say

if i contact ebay about alertpay.com and they say not to use it, and cancel the auction he can't leave feedback can he?
