Akris anyone?

I am branching out a bit this fall in terms of brands/shapes and have been eyeing for a long time the Akris trapezoidal AI totes. There is precious little historical info here on TPF about the brand, just wondering if anyone is a recent(ish) owner of these (or any other Akris bags)? Looking for insights....

Several celebrities were spotted wearing those Akris totes in 2019-2020; otherwise, there's not much publicity around this brand.

I’ve seen some for good prices on reseller sites. I am fond of Akris RTW, but I don’t know much about the bags. i hope someone here will chime in too!

i just bought my first Ai handbag in small, it’s amazing IRL! It was really hard to choose from the red one with longer shoulder straps vs top handle in blue navy, but I went with navy! Best part it fits my laptop! I adore the architectural shape of the bag and that you can play with its shape, wearing it 3 ways… the leather quality is amazing, but the bag is lightweight and super practical. The top handle version comes with a detachable shoulder strap, while the red one with longer shoulder straps has inner pouch, it’s a really good tote. There’re so many colors and materials to choose from! It also has inner zip pocket and two slide pockets, which is great. I really like that it doesn’t have any logo, just tiny branding on the hardware, very low-key. I think it’s one of the best luxury totes.

No, the opening is wide enough that I can easily grab smth from the bag, but there is a inner lock I can use for security.


Here’s how the bag changes its shape, also if I close the front lock in the middle, the shape will be similar to the A-shape, but without the lock on the front. My top handle comes with a detachable shoulder strap, there are also other versions with longer shoulder straps to use as a tote bag.
