))These are photos of my 3 year old basket bag. I think it’s raffa and cotton. The bag is wearing very well, although it’s not in heavy rotation. I’m still very pleased with it.
Mine from 2019 and still looks great! I added a strap from Etsy this year!
It looks gorgeous! What kind of strap did you add? A longer one attached like on the hammock?
It's this custom one from Etsy made for Picotin but I used it for the basket bag. You can pick the length, color and HW. I love it as it's real leather too. I can PM you a link!
Beautiful! What's the upkeep like? I read you have to spray it with water from time to time?
May I ask how you carry it? Handheld only? I just got it and wonder if it can be carried on the shoulder at all due to it being so structured - I can’t put my arm on top without squishing it….?
I have the same one! It’s woven with cotton, virgin wool, and the raffia. I do find it sturdier than the raffia only bags. I was in a Loewe boutique in Paris with this bag and the sales associate said it was limited edition and people still ask about this colorway.
I carry mine handheld, in the crook of my arm and I can also wear it on my shoulder if I need to. I haven’t adjusted the straps from the original placement and I do use a drawstring pouch to keep the contents secure. I love this bag but I only use it occasionally during the summer. If it’s uncomfortable for you, I’d consider returning it.
