Hi, I am new to this sub-forum but love jewelry (of course) anyway, my original wedding band I am alergic to and haven't been able to wear it for a year or so, it is white gold with 3 sections of 2 diamonds. I am looking to replace it with a platinum band. With the high prices of platinum, I was able to find a band that was a great price and 1/2 tw diamonds that are princess cut and go all the way accross the band. My e-ring is a 3 stone round diamond setting. Does anyone see a problem with this ? You can't really even tell that the diamonds in the band are princess cut and the jeweler said that a lot of people prefer this because it shows no gaps with the diamonds in the band. Any opinions on this ? TIA

I love a mix of diamond shapes, I think this would be lovely. But without pictures, it's hard to say for sure. I think the key is that the proportions be right between the two rings.

I knew someone who suddenly couldn't wear her wedding ring anymore because her finger would constantly be red, skin pealing and painful. She took it to a jewelry store for advice and they said that all it needed was a deep cleaning for a day or two at the shop to kill the germs that were on it. She was quite skeptical but left it in their care. A few days later, she picked it up and has worn it since with no problem. Not as much fun as a new ring, I grant you, but may be worth looking into..... Good luck.

Thanks ! I stopped wearing mine for about a year and then put it on again and it happened so I think the germs would have died by then. Thanks for the advice and the story though !

Actually my daughter has a round ering and a chanel set princess cut band, both are in platinum. They look awesome together. You can mix stone shapes, colors and metals all you want. All that matters is that YOU like it! Have fun! Welcome to tpf!
