Advice on ring....

So, I recently found a ring that I absolutely adore at Helzberg. The only problem is that the diamond clarity is not exactly what I want it to be.

The ring has a clarity of I1, where I would really like a clarity of VVS2 or so.

My question is do you think I could get a ring custom made with setting that looked similar for about the same price? I really don't want to go over a thousand. I've looked at loose diamonds, and it's about 300-400 for a .25 carat round/princess cut diamond with the clarity and color I would like. I'm just really hooked on this setting. I absolutely adore it. I want about the same carat weight, .25 center stone and .25 setting.

Also, I live in the Maryland area. Can anyone recommend a jeweler who does custom settings?

I think Quest is around there..not sure though. I know they do nice custom work.

I don't know that you can have that ring remade with better clarity for that same price. The setting itself even in white gold will likely be easily the same price, if not more. Plus the cost of the center stone.

Thanks for replying. I thought about it more, and I may just go with the ring I posted. It's not the exactly clarity I want, but I'm not sure it would be too noticeable with a .25 carat diamond. Its sparkles quite nicely, and has the setting I want. Thanks for the advice!

Sure thing! You can always buy a cleaner .25 ct stone at a later date and have it swapped out.
