Hello all:

I am in need of some advice. I am between a Raymond Weil watch or this dbty necklace. I have a Michelle watch, but I wanted something that was a mechanical and a little more classic. However, I also want this necklace as well. I can't get both at this time.

Which would you go with?View attachment 3757837IMG_1499560145.392435.jpg

Try and find the Raymond Weil at a significant discount if possible. My father purchased a gold and steel model for my mother for nearly three thousand a couple of years ago only to see the same watch available for just under a thousand on the grey market (jomashop, amazon, ashford, etc.

The watch was found at 20% discount, but I'm a little scared about buying it from the grey market and having it not be authentic

Are these authentic sites?

They are authentic sites that special in selling watches offloaded from authorized retailers. Therefore they are usually older models for the most part that retailers are trying to replace with newer inventory.

The downside however is that for the most part the watch will not come with a valid warranty from the retailer. However for certain watches even if you have an issue down the road, the savings will more than cover the cost of a service.

If a watch costs (600-1000$) to service and grey market saves you significantly more money, then you might be better off purchasing off the grey market; specifically for watches with poor value retention on the 2nd hand market.

For peace of mind, you can always opt to purchase from an authorized retailer but I would try to negotiate a better price by offering to pay cash. Aim for 25-40% off Raymond Weil if possible and oven 60% off on grey market.
