This may sound silly...

I am planning on getting tattoos on my wrist as a memorial to two friends. I want these to be in a place where I can see them everyday (hence, memorial) but, I will need something to cover them up in the appropriate situations.

I was thinking something like the leather cuff bracelets from either LV or Hermes. I like the leather idea because I have tiny wrists, and bangles tend to slip off and that would defeat the purpose...

Any ideas? I really appreciate any advice!

Both Hermes and LV have leather bracelets. In gold, the wide cuffs are very popular and stores like Coach have them but not sure of the size. I have one from another designer and love it, I move mine up on the wrist sometimes.

Tattoos?! nooooo, it will take away from all your gorgeous bags and accessories. Your friends certainly had interests? Send money to something they would be proud to be associated with - an animal shelter, children's hospice, crisis center, local ems . . . .don't keep their memory with you on your wrist. Believe me, their memory is alive and well with all their friends and family. Just my .02 cents.

Haha, thanks for your two cents! It's always good to have an outside opinion. Plus, my mother would love you!:smile1:

You sound like a very caring person & your tatoo idea is very touching. Please really think long & hard about that tatoo because they look lovely on young skin, but as skin ages tatoos fade & look smudgy (not such a great look). How about a bracelet with your friends initials? My friend just bought a Links of London sweetie bracelet & put on charms with the initials of her son.

Hi windowshopping, I think your idea to memorialize your friends is great. However, I'm going to have to agree with the other posters that a wrist tattoo is not the best idea. Even though you could cover it up with a bracelet, do you really want to have to do that all the time, for the rest of your life? If you decide that you do, white ink might be a good option (if you have pale skin) because you can see it if you're looking for it, but it's more subtle than black ink. Alternatively, a charm bracelet is a nice idea, or a necklace- I'm thinking of those multi-charm necklaces that are marketed toward mothers. You can get several charms on a chain with names, birthstones, lockets w/photos, etc. Redenvelope.com has some nice styles-

Gelbergirl's suggestion of a donation in their memory is also nice.

Saw a gorgeous leather cuff in Swarovski in grey leather (also in white-called an empire bracelet) and thought of this thread. Price was about £110. The hermes collier de chien bracelet is TDF.
