hi ladies... i just would love some advice on the following. I have a wedding to attend (my bf of 8yrs brothers wedding). It is fairly dressy and i have bought nude/gold tone silk dress with same tone shoes. I am not wearing a necklace because of the neckline and wanted something 'significant' on my wrist to make up for no necklace. I have recently seen a michael kors crystal chronograph watch that i have fallen in love with> do you think it would be dressy enough for a dressy wedding or spoil the look of my dress? any opinions would be appreciated :smile1: tia

I'm afraid to be the 1st to offer my opinion here. But while I think that is a great watch, I don't care for it to be worn to a dressy occassion. Perhaps others will chime in with other suggestions. How about stacking gold bangles?

no, thank u for your opinion! i would rather hear what you truly think as i would hate to spoil the look a an expensive dress. what had made me think i could carry this look off, is all the photos of celebs wearing dresses at events with their rolex etc. i know there is a substantial difference in a rolex and micheal kors but thats all my budget could stretch to at the min!

I think accessories make or break an outfit...do you have a pic of the dress? For a wedding, I'd lean towards wearing something more than a watch, or else, something in addition to a watch. If you're on a budget, I think nordies have some very nice fashion jewelery, especially bracelets and such. or else, BR makes nice ones too.

This is the pic that had inspired me, what do you guys think? tia!

I think the watch works on VB because it is a structured dress. And it definitely makes the look more business-like as opposed to dressy/formal. A watch, especially a larger one, simply does not work with any sort of flowy dress, IMO. I would go with something else and not the watch.

I agree with HauteMama. I saw Becks and wondered - why does it work? It's the structure of the dress and the fact that it's black which looks very "business" combined with the watch.

I like AntiqueShopper's suggestions. Or how about a couple chunky bracelets, either Alexis Bittar or Tiffany & Co.'s laqcuered bangles? I think a complete contrast, perhaps purple bangles, would look great next to the classy gold/nude tone dress.

thank you for all your honest advice. I think i just wanted to buy the watch and was trying to reason it!!
i was shopping today and seen some beauitful dyrberg kern pieces which i might go for!
